Dr Amit Porwal is heading the Department of Glaucoma at Choithram Netralaya, Indore. He is holding the post of Member Scientific Committee, All India Ophthalmological Society & Chairman Scientific Committee of ISMSICS MP Chapter. He Post-graduated from JN Medical College, Belagavi, and did fellowship from Aravind eye hospital, Coimbatore. A teacher & trainer in Glaucoma & Cataract surgery since 20 years, with expertise in dealing of complex situations in glaucoma. His work has been presented academically in various national and international conferences. Dr Porwal is awarded with Ophthalmology Stars Conquering International Heights award, ISCKRS Young Achiever Award, NIO Gold Medal, IIRSI Gold Medal, and iBEACH Film Festival Gold Medal in recognition of outstanding achievement in the field of Ophthalmology. He is editorial board member of Journal of Ophthalmic Research and Practise & UP Journal of Ophthalmology & was Section Editor, in Indian Journal of Ophthalmology. Dr Porwal has several publications in indexed journals and has written chapters for textbooks of glaucoma.
He has delivered more than 650 talks & presented more than 214 scientific papers/posters/Videos at various conferences. Dr Porwal was holding the post of Member Academic & Research Committee-Central Zone of All India Ophthalmological Society and Central Zone Executive Member, Glaucoma Society of India.
