Dr Bryan Ang is a Consultant with the Glaucoma Service at the Department of Ophthalmology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore. In his medical undergraduate studies at the National University of Singapore, Dr Ang was awarded the M.B.B.S Distinction in Surgery, placed on the Dean’s List for multiple years, and was recognized as the 2nd Best Candidate in Surgery in his cohort. Subsequently, he received the Gold Medal as the Best Candidate in the Masters in Medicine (Ophthalmology) examinations, and is now a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore, and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Dr Ang’s main clinical and research interest is in glaucoma surgery and Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS). His surgical techniques in MIGS have won prestigious awards, including the 2nd Best Surgical Film Award at the World Glaucoma Congress 2019 and the Best Video Award at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Meeting 2021. Dr Ang is a regular speaker at Glaucoma meetings and has been invited as a course instructor and speaker on MIGS both regionally and internationally. To date, Dr Ang has published more than 35 peer-reviewed scientific papers in international journals.
Dr Ang is currently the Treasurer of the Glaucoma Association of Singapore, and is a member of the Glaucoma Subspecialty Committee in the College of Ophthalmologists, at the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
