Professor Ching-Yu Cheng is the Director of the Center for Innovation & Precision Eye Health at National University of Singapore. He concurrently serves as Head of Data Science Unit and Ocular Epidemiology Group at Singapore Eye Research Institute. His research work involves both epidemiological and clinical research related to age-related ocular diseases, in particular glaucoma, as well as identification of susceptibility genes for ocular diseases. He also works on AI-based big data analytics for disease prediction and detection based on ocular images. At the APAO, he chairs the Research Standing Committee. He has published >600 scientific papers, included those in Nature Genetics, JAMA, and NEJM, Lancet Global Health, etc. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Ophthalmic Epidemiology. His honors include prestigious Clinician Scientist Awards from Singapore; the APAO Achievement Award and Outstanding Service in Prevention of Blindness Award; the AAO Achievement Award, and the Fellow of the ARVO.
