Dr. Lavanya Raghavan is an Ophthalmologist and researcher with a special interest in glaucoma, currently working at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI). She completed her basic medical education from Seth G.S. Medical College, K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai and post-graduation in Ophthalmology from Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Madras Medical College, Chennai. She also holds a Membership of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has worked on several glaucoma clinical trials and community-based studies in Singapore with special focus on screening, imaging, and management of angle closure. Her research interests are in identification of novel imaging and biomechanical biomarkers in diagnosis and progression of glaucoma, especially in high myopes. She has authored several research papers in high-impact international peer-reviewed journals and has been an invited speaker for many local and international conferences. Her current research focus is to harness the potential of Artificial Intelligence to facilitate community-based screening for glaucoma.
