Associate Professor Michael Coote MBBS FRANZCO GAICD
Michael is an active glaucoma surgeon, researcher and has administrative roles. He is a serial creator: he developed a disposable tonometer, a tele-ophthalmology platform, a new problem based electronic medical record for ophthalmology, a new ophthalmic speculum and a new electrode for ERG recording. He developed the “CERA model” of bleb porosity testing and is the founder of a start-up developing a new drainage device based upon the insights. He developed the GONE program for ONH examination, and has co-authored a text-book on the Optic Nerve in Glaucoma. He has published over 50 peer reviewed manuscripts, authored 8 books and chapters and has given over 60 international lectures. He lives in Melbourne Australia.
