Dr Mimiwati Zahari is currently a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya and a Consultant Ophthalmologist and a Glaucoma Specialist in University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and University of Malaya Specialist Centre (UMSC).
After receiving her postgraduate qualifications in 2000 from University Malaya, National University of Singapore and the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), she underwent her fellowship in Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne.
Her topics of interest include glaucoma in general with special interest in normal tension glaucoma, glaucoma medication and surgery.
She is currently a council member of the Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society, a committee member of the Malaysian Glaucoma Society, and a section editor of the Malaysian Journal of Ophthalmology (MyJo). She is also the chief writer in the new Malaysian Curriculum for PostGraduate training in Ophthalmology published in 2022.
