Dr Renato Damaso Rayel Jr obtained his medical degree and masters degree in business administration at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed both his residency and fellowship training at the Sentro Oftalmologico Jose Rizal at the Philippine General Hospital. He is currently a glaucoma specialist practicing in Davao City. He is a consultant at Davao Doctors Hospital and trains ophthalmology residents at the Southern Philippines Medical Center. He is also one of the founders of the Premier Eye and Laser Center. He is a member of the Philippine Glaucoma Society, has served on various educational committees of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology and helps train both residents as well as ophthalmic support staff throughout the country
