Thasarat Sutabutr Vajaranant

Dr. Thasarat Sutabutr Vajaranant, MD, MHA, is a professor of Ophthalmology, Vice Chair for Strategic Initiatives, Director of Glaucoma Service, and Director of AiO Center at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Recognized as one of Castle Connelly America’s Top Doctors for over a decade, she specializes in managing complex glaucoma and cataracts. As the American Glaucoma Society Ambassador to Asia, she fosters international collaboration to improve glaucoma care. Her research, funded by the NIH, NEI, and the American Glaucoma Society, focuses on critical areas such as glaucoma epidemiology, optic nerve and brain aging, and women’s eye health. Additionally, she serves as a site principal investigator in multi-center clinical trials exploring innovative treatments for glaucoma.
