Dr Khamkhoune Holanouphab is the Director of National Ophthalmology Centre at the Ministry of Health in Laos. He subspecialises in Medical and Surgical Retina and has performed more than 20,000 cases of phaco, MSIC and other surgeries. He has been teaching residents at the Ophthalmology Centre in Vientiane Capital.

Ms. Ong serves as Deputy Director and head of the allied health and pharmacy department, where she also practises clinically as a senior principal optometrist. Under her leadership, the optometry service has grown to encompass nearly 70 optometrists working across specialised areas including primary eye care, contact lens services, myopia management, and low vision rehabilitation.
Ms. Ong’s commitment to professional development led her to pursue advanced training through the prestigious SingHealth Head Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Sponsorship in 2011. This opportunity enabled her to undertake specialised training in Low Vision Rehabilitation at the School of Optometry, University of California, Berkeley. Her dedication to excellence in the field was further recognised when she joined the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) in 2014 and achieved Fellowship status (FAAO) in the same year.
Beyond her clinical and administrative responsibilities, Ms. Ong holds the position of SingHealth Head of Allied Health Professional for Wellbeing and Engagement, demonstrating her commitment to supporting healthcare professionals. She also contributes to optometric education as an Academic Fellow for the Diploma in Optometry programme at Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Health Sciences for 2025 and 2026.
Her outstanding contributions to eye care and the optometry profession have been recognised through prestigious honours, including both the National Day Commendation Award and the Eye and Vision Health Meritorious Award, which she received in 2023. Through her multifaceted role, Ms. Ong continues to advance optometric care whilst nurturing the next generation of eye care professionals.

Haslina Binte Hamzah is the Deputy Director at the Singapore National Eye Centre Ocular Reading Centre. She leads strategic initiatives in clinical innovation, digital transformation, and national scale DR screening programme. Haslina has been instrumental in the development, deployment, and clinical evaluation of AI technologies such as SELENA+ and in shaping the Singapore Integrated Diabetic Retinopathy Programme (SIDRP). She collaborates widely across healthcare, engineering, and public health domains to advance accessible, high quality eye care for Singapore’s population. In addition, Haslina has delivered fundus grading training and competency development programmes internationally—including in Oman, Brunei, and Australia—to build global capacity in AI augmented retinal screening and image interpretation.

Dr. Shao has been a full-time researcher in Ocular Imaging Laboratory at the Eye Hospital, Wenzhou Medical University since 2015. He focuses on developing optical coherence tomography (OCT) and image processing techniques for ocular disease research. His work addresses high myopia-related visual impairment, establishing imaging biomarkers across photoreceptor, choroidal, and scleral dimensions. He has published over 30 SCI papers, including 8 in IOVS, and has been awarded NSFC Young Scientist and General Program grants. He has also contributed to major national projects such as the 973 Program and the National Key R&D Program. His recent first/corresponding-author work appears in BJO, IOVS, J Transl Med, and Eye Vis.

Professor Hu Liang is Executive Dean of the School of Ophthalmology & Optometry (School of Biomedical Engineering) at Wenzhou Medical University and Vice President of the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University. He is a recipient of the inaugural National Outstanding Young Physician Award and serves as an Expert Member of the Chinese Ophthalmological Society. He was a visiting scholar at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami, and is a graduate of the New England College of Optometry in the United States. His clinical and research interests include myopia prevention and control, high myopia, refractive surgery, dry eye, and ocular surface function. He has led more than 20 national and provincial research projects, published over 100 academic papers, and contributed to more than 20 textbooks and scholarly works.

Dr Raba Thapa MD, PhD is a Professor of Ophthalmology at National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), and a Senior Consultant Vitreo-retinal surgeon at Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO), Kathmandu, Nepal. Currently, she is working as a Head of Vitreo-retina Department and Chief of Research Department at TIO.
She has published over 70 articles in many national and international peer reviewed journals. She was the guest editor of BMC Ophthalmology and now serving as an editorial board member of BMC Ophthalmology and Journal of Nepal Health Research Council. She is working as a member of the diabetic retinopathy working group of International Agency for the Prevention of Blind (IAPB). She was consultant expert member of the “Diabetic Retinopathy: A Call for Global Action A policy brief by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness and the International Diabetes Federation”. She worked as a coordinator of development of National guideline for the management of diabetic retinopathy and development of advocacy strategy for integration of diabetic retinopathy in public health system in Nepal, endorsed by the Ministry of Health, Government of Nepal on 2017, supported by the Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF) and World Diabetes Foundation.
She is the principal investigator of Diabetic Retinopathy Registry in Nepal, started from July 2024 supported by FHF and Cure Blindness Project, USA.
She has received many national and international research awards including Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Foundation Collaborative Research Fellowship Award, 2022, USA.
She is the current vice-president of Nepal Vitreo-Retina Society, Council member of Asia Pacific Tele-Ophthalmology Society and past vice-president of Nepal Ophthalmic Society.

Elena Binte Mohamed Ayob is the Director of Nursing at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), with more than 28 years of experience in nursing leadership and healthcare transformation. Her key interests are workforce development and staff well-being, with a strong focus on nursing manpower planning, talent management, job redesign and retention strategies. A passionate advocate for professional growth and employee engagement, she has led numerous initiatives to strengthen workplace well-being, develop future nursing leaders and create sustainable healthcare careers. In recognition of her contributions to the nursing profession, Elena was awarded the President’s Award for Nurses in 2024.

Prof. Seung-Young Yu is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Kyung Hee University School of Medicine, Seoul, Korea. Her research interests include multimodal retinal imaging, particularly optical coherence tomography (OCT), OCT angiography (OCTA), and fundus autofluorescence (FAF), in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and pachychoroid spectrum diseases. She has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed SCI-indexed publications and regularly presents her research at international scientific meetings. Her current research focuses on retinal imaging biomarkers and their clinical application in retinal diseases.

Dr Woo is the Founder and Chief Clinical Director of the Orthokeratology and Myopia Management Clinic in Sydney, Australia. He is a recognised lecturer, mentor and educator in the field of myopia management internationally and has made outstanding contributions to the cause of orthokeratology in Asia. So far, he has been invited to complete more than 200 international lectures related to optometry at international conferences such as the World Ophthalmology Congress (WOC) and International Myopia Conference (IMC).

Professor Stephanie Watson OAM FARVO is Head of Ophthalmology and leads the Corneal Research Group at The University of Sydney and Head of the Corneal Unit at the Sydney Eye Hospital. As Chair, Australian Vision Research; Chair, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists NSW Branch and Secretary to the Asia Pacific Ophthalmic Trauma Society, Professor Watson contributes to policy and advocacy. Professor Watson has generated over 244 Scopus publications and $14M in funding. As well as discovering new knowledge the research has changed practice and enabled the training of over 80 next-generation eye experts.

Dr. Huy Tran is a lecturer in Ophthalmology at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and Director of the Myopia Program at Hai Yen Eye Care, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. With over 15 years of experience, he is recognized as one of the country’s leading experts in refractive surgery, myopia management, and vision science. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and led clinical trials on pharmaceutical treatments and innovative spectacle lenses for myopia control. As Asia-Pacific Ambassador for the International Myopia Institute, he actively contributes to shaping global myopia management strategies.

Dr. Sunil Thangaraj Director of International Relations, Sankara Group of Institutions & Sankara Netra Chikitsalaya Eye Hospitals, India Dr. Sunil Thangaraj is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with surgical expertise spanning cataract, paediatric cataract, glaucoma, and cornea. He is an active academician who has presented at numerous national and international forums. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Thangaraj is deeply committed to humanitarian service, undertaking charitable surgical work and teaching missions across Myanmar and Africa. He is also a passionate medical educator, running his own YouTube channel where he has shared around 1000 videos to advance ophthalmic learning worldwide.

Dr. Yih Chung Tham is a Presidential Young Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). Within NUS Medicine, he holds dual leadership roles as Co-Lead for Population Data Science and Program Director for Optometry Education at the Centre for Innovation & Precision Eye Health. Dr Tham also serves as a clinician scientist at the Singapore Eye Research Institute.
Dr Tham specializes in generative AI, foundation model, large language models, epidemiology, and big data analytics in ophthalmic research. He holds an H-index of 70 and has an extensive research portfolio with over 370 peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals, including Nature Medicine, Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Aging, and Lancet Digital Health. One of his influential contributions is the Global Glaucoma Burden paper, which has been cited over 9,500 times, being one of the most cited ophthalmology papers of all time. Dr. Tham is also the co-founder of the landmark Global RETFound Consortium Initiative.
Dr. Tham has received multiple prestigious awards, including the National University of Singapore’s President’s Graduate Fellowship Award and the Singapore National Medical Research Council’s (NMRC) Population Health Clinician Scientist Award. Since 2021, he has been consistently recognized among the top 2% most cited scientists worldwide.

Associate Professor Kelvin Teo is a senior consultant ophthalmologist at Advanced Eye Clinic and Surgery, with a special focus on complex retinal diseases. He is a cataract surgeon and retinal specialist with clinical expertise in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and retinal vascular disorders.
Dr Teo graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, and went on to earn a PhD in Medical Research from the University of Sydney. He completed his ophthalmology specialist training at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), where he practised for over a decade. His dual fellowships in Medical Retina—one from SNEC and the other from the Sydney Eye Hospital—further deepened his subspecialty expertise.
As an adjunct Associate Professor at the Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Programme (EYE ACP), Duke-NUS Medical School, and a lead researcher at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), A/Prof Teo actively contributes to research on the aging eye, macular degeneration, and retinal imaging and treatment. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and secured major national research funding, including the NMRC Transition Award.
A/Prof. Teo is invited to speak at international conferences, academic forums, and industry events. He works closely with global research networks and pharmaceutical partners on retinal therapeutics. Through his involvement in clinical trials and translational research, he offers patients access to treatments and technologies, delivering individualised care for complex retinal conditions.

A/Prof Clement Tan is a Senior Consultant who heads the Neuro-Ophthalmology Service at National University Hospital. Apart from general clinical ophthalmology and general neuro-ophthalmology, he has special interests in eye movement and pupil disorders, and receives referrals for neuro-ophthalmology from fellow ophthalmologists, neurologists and neurosurgeons.
A/Prof Tan’s research interests are in the field of neuro-ophthalmology.

Dr Danli Shi is Research Assistant Professor at the School of Optometry, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is an interdisciplinary physician-scientist working at the interface of ophthalmology and artificial intelligence. Her research focuses on generative AI for non-invasive retinal imaging, multimodal vision-language foundation models, autonomous ophthalmic systems, and retinal biomarkers for systemic disease prediction. She has published more than 80 peer-reviewed papers, with work appearing in npj Digital Medicine, JAMA Ophthalmology, JACC, and Ophthalmology Science. Her work has been supported by competitive grants and recognised internationally for innovation in AI-enabled eye care.

Padmaja Sankaridurg is Professor, School of Optometry and Vision Science, Faculty of Medicine & Health, University of New South Wales. She is also a scientific advisor and former Head of Global Myopia Innovation at ZEISS Vision Care. Prof Sankaridurg is an expert in myopia management with an interest in translating to products to slow myopia. Her work led to many myopia control products, with the most recent being ZEISS MyoActive. She has been involved in development of multiple practice aids and guidelines including the BHVI Myopia Calculator and the axial length percentile charts. She has published widely, is an inventor on many patents/applications, authored several book chapters, supervised many postgraduate students, serves on editorial boards for many journals and lectures extensively at national and international meetings.

Dr Gary Peh completed his PhD with Professor Martin Pera (Monash University, Australia) in the field of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs), on the characterization of early neural differentiation in 2007. He then returned to Singapore to continue his post-doctoral training in the area of hESCs research in Professor Ariff Bongso’s laboratory (National University of Singapore, Singapore) for 20 months.
In late 2009, he joined Associate Professor Jodhbir Mehta’s research group at Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), focusing on the biology of human corneal endothelium, and particularly on the growth and expansion of primary human corneal endothelial cells (hCECs) with the aim of developing these cells as a source for tissue-engineered corneal graft alternative. Since joining SERI, Dr Gary Peh has been involved in 30 peer-review articles and 2 book chapters.

Darius M. Moshfeghi, MD, is Chief of Retina at Stanford University School of Medicine He created the largest telemedicine program in the United States for premature and term infants, providing screening coverage for >2.5% of USA hospitals and >4% of eligible infants. Similarly, he is the Chief Medical Advisor for Zero Blind Babies which screens for retinopathy of prematurity in Ghana, Ethiopia, and Tanzania.
He advises GigCapital and was a director for GigCapital7 (GIGGU). He sold Placid0 to Waldo and was an indepedent director for 1800 Contacts during its acquisition by KKR.
He co-founded Vision Labs, a mobile corneal screening technology, and Pr3vent, which offers universal newborn eye screening of infants on 3 continents.
Dr. Moshfeghi was inducted into the 2021 class of the Retina Hall of Fame.

Dr. Antonio Moramarco is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology in the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences at the University of Bologna. He is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences and an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology. Dr. Moramarco has been involved in research, education, and clinical treatment related to corneal transplant surgery, corneal diseases, and ocular surface conditions for over 15 years. He is an internationally recognised speaker, clinician, and researcher, and has published extensively in numerous medical journals and books. He currently serves on the editorial boards of the “Journal of Ocular Disease and Therapeutics” and “Frontiers in Medicine, section Ophthalmology”. He is extensively involved in national and international education related to ophthalmology, particularly in corneal and transplant surgery.

Dr Aditi Mohla is a full time Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. She has been involved in research at the Institute’s Academic Unit of Ophthalmology and has been Chief Investigator, Principal Investigator and Sub Investigator of several multi national trials. She is Honarary Professor at Leeds Medical School and involved in education and mentoring of students and trainees. She has several years of experience and expertise in the field of Medical Retina, having worked in London, Leeds (UK) and Singapore. She is regularly involved in presentations and discussions at national and international meetings.

Dr. Penny Lott Pooi Wah is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Senior Medical Lecturer at the University of Malaya and the University of Malaya Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She subspecializes in medical retina and uveitis. She completed advanced subspecialty training at the Singapore National Eye Centre and Leeds Teaching Hospitals in the UK, and she undertook a clinical attachment at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK).
She plays an active role in postgraduate ophthalmology training, examinations, and academic coordination in Malaysia. She is involved in clinical research and collaborations, with publications in peer-reviewed journals, and is invited to speak at ophthalmology conferences.

Prof Li is the Senior Clinical Scientist, Singapore National Eye Centre; Director of the Tianjin Quality Control Center for Ophthalmology, Vice Chairman of the Tianjin Ophthalmological Society, Standing Committee Member of the Ophthalmologist Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association and Vice President, Ophthalmology Branch, Chinese Geriatrics Society.
He has presided over 7 National Natural Science Foundation projects and 8 provincial and ministerial research projects and has published 506 professional papers in prestigious journals at home and abroad, including 171 SCI papers (all as corresponding author). He has been awarded 3 international prizes for blindness prevention and treatment, 2 Third Class Prizes of Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, 1 First Class Prize, 1 Second Class Prize and 2 Third Class Prizes of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award, as well as 1 Third Class Prize of Tianjin Natural Science Award. His research achievements were selected as one of the Top 10 Advances in Ophthalmology in 2021 and one of the Top 10 Advances in Retinopathy across China in 2015. He holds 12 national patents.
He has authored, co-edited and contributed to 37 monographs. In 2016, he served as the chief editor of Ophthalmic Diseases, the national undergraduate planned textbook for the 13th Five-Year Plan issued by the former National Health and Family Planning Commission.
Since 1998, he has supervised 111 master students, 74 doctoral students and 6 postdoctoral researchers, among whom 4 have completed their postdoctoral training.

Professor Li Dongmei is the Chief of the Division of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Beijing TongRen Eye Center, Capital Medical University and Vice President of the Beijing Aier Eye Hospital. She is the Past President of the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, and serves as the Executive Committee Member, Women in Ophthalmology at the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology as well as Board Member of the International Thyroid Eye Disease Society. She was awarded the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Achievement Award in 2017 and 2021, and the Distinguished Service Award at the APAO Congress 2019. She has published more than 100 articles and has served as the chief editor and chief translator of 10 text books.

Prof Tae-im Kim is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Yonsei University and serves as Director of the Corneal Dystrophy Research Institute. She is an internationally recognized expert in cataract and refractive surgery, with a distinguished career spanning advanced clinical care, basic and translational research, and the development and evaluation of innovative ophthalmic devices.
She currently serves as Secretary General of the Korean Ophthalmological Society and has held multiple executive and directorial roles in national academic societies, contributing substantially to academic leadership, professional education, and policy development within the field of ophthalmology.
Professor Kim has authored over 250 peer-reviewed international publications and has served as an editor and editorial board member for several leading ophthalmology journals. Her clinical expertise focuses on the management of complex cataract and refractive surgery cases, particularly in patients with pre-existing ocular conditions and surgical challenges.
Her primary research interests include the development of novel pharmaceutical therapies for dry eye disease, advanced ocular and corneal therapeutics, and the innovation of ophthalmic devices, with a strong emphasis on the translation of research discoveries into clinical practice.

Dr. Rohit C Khanna is the Network Director for the Public Health Unit of L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI). He is also Regional Chair, South-East Asia, International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and an active participant in IAPB and World Health Organization (WHO). He has led multiple studies, including the cohort of Andhra Pradesh Eye Disease Study (APEDS) – a milestone study. He has to his credit over 200 peer-reviewed publications and has been awarded several prestigious research grants.
A recipient of the IAPB Eye Health Leader Award and Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology’s Blindness Prevention Award, Dr Khanna has vast experience in leading capacity building initiatives and working as consultant for both national and global organizations, including IAPB and WHO.

Dr. Abdullah Khan is a Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KKESH&RC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is the Fellowship Program Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and a member of the retinoblastoma multidisciplinary team. He also serves as an Associate Professor at Alfaisal University.
Dr. Khan is actively involved in clinical care, surgery, and education in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. His expertise includes retinoblastoma, strabismus, childhood glaucoma, and cataract, with ongoing contributions to research and academic publications.

Prof Hwang Yih-Shiou is a Professor and Chairman, Ophthalmology at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou, Taipei and Taoyuan, Taiwan, and President of the Taiwan Macula Society. He is also the member of International Ocular Inflammation Society (IOIS) and Asia-Pacific Intraocular Inflammation Study Group (APIISG). His focused specialization is on ocular inflammatory diseases following more than 15 years of training, clinical and laboratory research after his fellowship training.
Prof Hwang is a frequent and much sought after speaker and coordinator of prestigious international retina and uveitis conferences. He generously shares the results from his frequently updated and extensive patient database from clinical and laboratory studies on ocular immunology and uveitis. His CV includes over 60 peer review publications and includes a co-authored text book chapter for retinal diseases. Dr. Hwang also serves as the Vice Chairman of Academic-Industrial Collaboration Office of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, which is the platform for the translation from bench to clinical service and further into commercial products.

Prof Mingguang He is the Chair Professor of Experimental Ophthalmology at the School of Optometry of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prof. He undertook his medical training in China, receiving his MBBS degree from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, before going on to obtain a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, a MD degree in Ophthalmology from Sun Yat-sen University, and a PhD in Ophthalmology at UCL Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. Before joining PolyU, Prof. He was the former Associate Director and Professor of Ophthalmology in the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC), Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. Prof. He was a NHMRC Leadership Fellow and Professor of Ophthalmic Epidemiology in The University of Melbourne and Centre for Eye Research Australia, as well as Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Prevention of Blindness (Australia). Prof. He founded and served as the first president of the Asia Pacific Tele-Ophthalmology Society and is a founding council member of the Asia Pacific Myopia Society and Deputy Secretary-General for the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology. Prof. He is currently the deputy Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Ophthalmology.

Renzo R. Guinto, MD DrPH is Associate Professor and Lead of the Planetary Health Programme at SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute, Duke-NUS Medical School. One of the world’s pioneers of the new field of planetary health and Southeast Asia’s leading “pracademic” of climate and health, Renzo is a member of the National Panel of Technical Experts of the Philippine Climate Change Commission; World Health Organization’s Technical Advisory Group on the ethics of climate and health; editorial boards of several journals including The Lancet Planetary Health; and various high-level committees such as the Lancet Commission on Sustainable Healthcare. In 2025, Renzo was awarded the inaugural Kiyoshi Kurokawa Award by Japan’s Health and Global Policy Institute for “extraordinary contributions to health policy and innovation in the Asia-Pacific region.”

So Goto, MD, PhD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The University of Osaka and a visiting researcher at UC Berkeley and Tokyo Medical Center. He completed his MD at Kanazawa University and PhD and ophthalmology training at The University of Osaka, followed by research fellowship at UC Berkeley. He has received multiple awards, including the Japan Ophthalmological Society Young Investigator Award (2019), the IRRF Postdoctoral Scholar Award (2022), and the AAO Achievement Award (2024). His research focuses on choroidal vascular development, mechanisms of eye growth and myopia, and improving IOL power calculation in cataract and vitreoretinal surgery.

Dr. Alice Goh is a board-certified, fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon and
a recognized leader in cosmetic eyelid surgery and facial rejuvenation. A dualfellowship
recipient from the prestigious Samsung Medical Center (Seoul) and the Jules Stein Eye Institute (UCLA), she bridges international surgical standards with cutting-edge aesthetic techniques.
As the Founding Chair of the Malaysia Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (MSOPRS) and an Executive Council member of APSOPRS, Dr. Goh is a pivotal figure in the advancement of cosmetic eyelid surgery in Asia. She is widely recognized as the creator of MINEL (Minimally Invasive Eyelid surgery), a specialized skin-preservation upper blepharoplasty. Dr. Sri Ganesh is internationally acclaimed for his expertise in cataract and refractive surgery. Over the course of his career, he has successfully performed more than 150,000 surgeries, earning a reputation for precision, innovation, and excellence in patient care. His contributions extend beyond clinical practice into education and global collaboration. He serves as Secretary of the International Intraocular Implant Club (IIIC) and Treasurer of the Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (APACRS). Additionally, he has mentored and trained over 300 fellows from across the world, significantly influencing the next generation of ophthalmologists & has over 100 Peer reviewed Publications.

Dr. Tobias Elze is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, Director of the Harvard Ophthalmology AI Lab, and Co-Director of the Mass. Eye and Ear Clinical Data Science Institute. His research focuses on applying artificial intelligence to ophthalmic imaging and functional vision testing, with a particular emphasis on glaucoma. Dr. Elze is an internationally recognized speaker and has published extensively on visual field analysis, structure–function relationships, and AI-based disease subtyping. He is actively involved in national and international education at the interface of ophthalmology and data science.

Dr Fabrizio D’Esposito is Head of Region for the Western Pacific at the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB). A public health specialist with over 15 years’ experience, he has led policy, advocacy, research, and health system strengthening initiatives across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific, including with the World Health Organization Regional Office for the Western Pacific (WPRO). His work focuses on eye health, noncommunicable diseases, and universal health coverage, with a particular interest in improving health outcomes for underserved populations

Assoc Prof Jacqueline Chua is a Clinician Scientist at Singapore Eye Research Institute and a practicing Optometrist at the Singapore National Eye Centre at a primary eye care setting. Assoc Prof Chua graduated with a Bachelor of Optometry from the University of Melbourne and a PhD from the University of Auckland. Upon completion of her doctorate, she undertook a five-year stint in optometric academia. She has also attained a clinical fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry. She was recently awarded the Transition Award, an early career talent development fund for clinician scientists to improve the detection of glaucoma using new imaging technology.

Dr Wai Kit Chu obtained his DPhil from the University of Oxford received post-doctoral training in University of Copenhagen. He then joined the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Currently he holds the position as the Director of the CUHK Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences Laboratories. In the ophthalmology discipline, he has a multi-specialty basic ophthalmic research directions, ranging from the retina and corneal disorders to drug delivery. He also leads industrial sponsored projects in studying novel ocular drug delivery including non-invasive delivery of anti-VEGF into eyes by ultrasound and delivery of macromolecules with cell-penetrating peptides in eye drops.

Dr Tani Brown is a Uveitis and Medical Retina specialist practicing on the Gold Coast, Australia. Dr. Brown underwent ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital and subsequent fellowships in Timor-Leste and in Uveitis and Medical Retina at Sydney Eye Hospital. In 2025 she underwent a further fellowship at SNEC in Ocular Inflammation and Immunology. She is currently a consultant ophthalmologist at the Gold Coast University Hospital and the Institute of urban Indigenous Health as well as an Honorary Adjunct Assistant Professor at Bond University on the Gold Coast.

Dr Muna Al-Ajimi is a Pediatric Ophthalmology Consultant and Vice President of the Research and Medical Studies and Schoolarship and Training Committees at the Medical City for Military and Security Services in Oman.

Dr Referano Agustiawan, MD, is a full-time ophthalmologist at JEC Eye Hospital. His field of specialization is in vitreoretinal diseases. Dr. Referano completed his basic medical education in 2000, from Medical Faculty, Brawijaya University in Malang. He then took his postgraduate study in ophthalmology at University of Indonesia, Jakarta. From 2004 to 2005, he was continuously being involved in ophthalmology care of patients by joining a community eye health center in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara and performed various ocular surgeries and high volume cataract surgeries. He spent a year as an international fellow in vitreoretinal surgery at Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, Mumbai, India in 2008-2009. He is currently served as Director of JEC @ Menteng.

Professor Yao Ke is Professor and Chief of Zhejiang University Eye Hospital. He has authored more than 590 scientific publications, including over 350 papers indexed in the Science Citation Index, and holds 23 national patents. His pioneering research and innovation have been supported by over 30 national and provincial grants and have contributed significantly to advances in ophthalmic science and patient care.
Over his distinguished career, he has served as the immediate-past President of the Chinese Ophthalmological Society, and the Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is also a Council Member of Chinese Medical Association, Board of Trustees Member of the International Council of Ophthalmology, Member of the Academia Ophthalmologica Internationalis, Regional Secretary of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, and Fellow of the Academy of Asia-Pacific Professors of Ophthalmology.
His outstanding achievements have been recognised through numerous international honours, including three National Awards for Science and Technology Progress, the Alfred-Vogt Prize of Switzerland, the ICO Mark Tso Golden Apple Award, the APAO Arthur Lim Award, the APACRS Gold Award, the APACRS A.C.E Award, and many other accolades from around the world.

Professor Wong Tien Yin is SNEC’s former Medical Director and currently serves as Senior Advisor to SingHealth. A retinal specialist by training, he has made outstanding contributions to advancing the understanding of retinal diseases, ocular imaging, artificial intelligence and digital healthcare.
Professor Wong is currently the Senior Vice-Chancellor of Tsinghua Medicine and Vice-Provost at Tsinghua University in China. He has also held numerous leadership positions across Singapore and Australia, including Vice Dean at Duke-NUS Medical School and Deputy Group CEO (Research and Education) of SingHealth. Through his work, he has strengthened international collaboration and driven innovation across healthcare, academia and research.
Professor Wong has published more than 1,700 scientific papers, delivered over 600 invited lectures globally, and received more than US$100 million in research funding. He been conferred with many prestigious awards, including the Arnall Patz Medal, the Jose Rizal Medal, the Friedenwald Award, as well as Singapore’s President’s Science Award and President’s Technology Award. Prof Sadda is a world -enowned ophthalmologist and researcher. He is the Director of Artificial Intelligence and Imaging Research at the Doheny Eye Institute, and Professor of Ophthalmology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He has also served as President of some of the most prestigious institutions in the world of ophthalmology, including the Doheny Eye Institute, the Macula Society, and the ARVO. He is the Founding Director of the Doheny Image Reading Center and has authored over 900 peer-reviewed publications, 20 book chapters, and has given over 650 presentations worldwide. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the 7th edition of Ryan’s Retina, Graefe’s Archive for clin & exp ophthalmology.
His numerous prestigious awards and achievements include the Research to Prevent Blindness Physician-Scientist Award, as well as major awards from the AAO, ASRS and APAO. Prof Sadda has made transformative contributions in the research of retinal imaging, image analysis and clinical trial endpoint design. Some of the most notable collaborative initiatives he has led include the Stephen Ryan initiative for macular research, the RIMR AMD consortium and the consensus in macular atrophy CAM group. These collaborations bring together researchers from diverse backgrounds and across diverse ethnic populations to identify early disease biomarkers, map structural progression scales and advance the understanding of AMD. ‘The CAM criteria for geographic atrophy have been adopted widely as an objective measurable structural endpoint for assessing therapies in non-Neo vascular AMD.

Professor Shigeru Kinoshita is the Professor and Chairman of Ophthalmology at Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Japan. He is renowned as a pioneer and innovative researcher in the global ophthalmology community and has consistently led the charge in the advancement of translational corneal research.
Prof Kinoshita’s primary interest focuses on the research and development of new therapeutic modalities for the cornea. Some of his notable reakthroughs include, establishing cultivated endothelial cell injection therapy for corneal endothelial failure as corneal regenerative medicine, amniotic membrane transplantation, and oral mucosal epithelial stem cell transplantation for severe ocular surface disease
He has also contributed significantly to academic ophthalmology literature, publishing over 670 articles with an H-index of 98, and holds more than 39 patents worldwide. He also served as Associate Editor of Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, and as an Editorial Board Member of Experimental Eye Research and Cornea.
Throughout his career, he has been the recipient of multiple international prestigious awards; including The Cornea Society’s 2008 Castroviejo Medal and Lecture; the ARVO Friedenwald Award and Lecture, and the Doyne Medal Lecture, Oxford Congress amongst many others.

Professor Dominik Fischer is one of the leading clinician-scientists worldwide in gene therapy for retinal diseases. He is Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Oxford, and Consultant Ophthalmologist at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
His pioneering work has resulted in a series of landmark achievements in ocular gene therapy. In 2015, he led the world’s first gene therapy targeting cones for achromatopsia. And in 2020, he served as principal investigator in the first-in-man clinical trials for gene therapy for PDE6A-associated Retinitis Pigmentosa.
Prof Fischer also co-patented the first genetically stable investigational new drug (IND) for X-linked Retinitis Pigmentosa (XLRP) gene therapy alongside Professor Robert MacLaren, paving the way for the world’s first treatment in a phase III retinal gene therapy trial.
Prof Fischer has delivered more than 150 invited lectures worldwide, published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and secured over €5 million in research funding. He contributes extensively to ophthalmic literature, holding editorial leadership positions in numerous academic journals.
His work has been recognised through numerous international honours, including awards from EURETINA, the German Ophthalmological Society, and the German Retina Society.

Professor Belkin is the Emeritus Professor of Ophthalmology at Tel Aviv University, and the founding director of the Tel Aviv University Eye Research Institute at the Sheba Medical Center. Currently he also serves as a senior advisor to the Singapore Eye Research Institute.
Prof Belkin is internationally renowned for his pioneering work in glaucoma and the establishment of many startups in ophthalmology. One of his most notable contributions is inventing and developing the first Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS), the Ex-PRESS Glaucoma Filtration Device, which is now routinely used in glaucoma surgery worldwide. He also developed the Direct Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, a non-contact treatment lasting only seconds, recently acquired by Alcon, with the promise of making glaucoma care more accessible.
Over the course of his distinguished career, he has won numerous awards. Most notably, he was named in The Ophthalmologist’s Power List in 2023 and 2024 and received the Visionary Award from the Glaucoma Research Foundation in 2025, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ophthalmology Innovation Summit, Israel in 2025.

Professor Graham Barrett is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and a Clinical Professor in The University of Western Australia’s Centre for Ophthalmology and Visual Science. He is founding President of the Australasian Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons and Past President of the Asia Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Professor Barrett pioneered the first foldable soft intraocular lens (IOL) using hydrophilic acrylic and developed the “Universal” Barrett mathematical formula to solve the problem of “refractive surprises”.
Professor Barrett has published extensively in textbook chapters, peer-reviewed papers, has produced award-winning videos on cataract and refractive surgery and sat on several industry editorial boards. He has served on several industry editorial boards including the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the European Journal of Implant and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Devendra Maheshwari is an Associate Professor and Senior Glaucoma Consultant at Aravind Eye Hospital, Tirunelveli, with advanced fellowship training from Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and observer ships at prestigious US universities like Wilmer and Kellogg. An accomplished researcher and educator, he has contributed over 100 indexed publications and 10 book chapters, serving as a trusted reviewer for leading global ophthalmology journals. . Dr. Emma Rusmayani is an ophthalmologist and glaucoma consultant with over 10 years of clinical experience. She has a strong academic interest in glaucoma, with research focusing on biomarkers of disease, including ischaemia-modified albumin as a local ischemic marker in primary glaucoma patients. Her work contributes to improving understanding of glaucoma pathophysiology and patient management. Victor Tan Chong Lip is a Senior Principal Pharmacist with extensive experience across both public and private healthcare sectors, encompassing general practice and specialized ophthalmology care. As the Pharmacy Lead at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), he plays a key role in shaping pharmacy services within a leading tertiary ophthalmic institution.
Victor is deeply passionate about advancing the clinical roles of pharmacists, particularly in the ophthalmology domain. He actively champions initiatives to integrate pharmacists more closely into patient care, with the aim of improving clinical outcomes, enhancing multidisciplinary collaboration, and delivering more holistic, safe and patient-centred care.

Dr Garway-Heath is the Glaucoma UK Professor of Ophthalmology at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, London, and an Honorary Consultant Ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. His research interests include glaucoma diagnostics, clinical trial design and identifying risk factors for glaucoma progression. He has published in major journals, such as Nature Medicine, The Lancet, BMJ, Ophthalmology and IOVS. He is a past President of the European Glaucoma Society and of the UK & Eire Glaucoma Society, and was one ten ophthalmologists and scientists inaugurated in The Ophthalmologist Power list ‘Hall of Fame’ in 2023.

Qi Zeng is a Research Director at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) at A*STAR, an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Biochemistry of the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the founder of Intra-ImmunSG Pte Ltd, an A*STAR spinoff company: https://www.intra-immusg.com/.
Zeng carried out her undergraduate training in Xiamen University, China, and her PhD training at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, US, and IMCB, A*STAR. She was conferred her PhD degree by NUS in 1993. Zeng’s team discovered PRL3 phosphatase in 1998 and uncovered the mechanisms of PRL3 in driving cancer hallmarks since. She proposed and pioneered an unconventional immunotherapy approach of using monoclonal antibodies (but not chemotherapy) to target intracellular oncoproteins. Her team demonstrated PRL3 is associated with abnormal angiogenesis both in tumors and eye diseases.

Makoto Inoue, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Ophthalmology, Kyorin Eye Center, Tokyo, Japan. He completed residencies in Ophthalmology at Keio University, Tokyo, Japan in 1992 and vitreoretinal fellowship at Kyorin University, Tokyo, Japan in 1994. Dr. Inoue was a research fellow at Duke Eye Center, Durham, North Carolina from 1997 to 1999. His research interests are focused on researching vitreoretinal pathologies and developing new technologies for vitreoretinal surgery.

Asst Prof Kelvin Li is a Consultant with the Department of Ophthalmology, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He sub-specialises in Neuro-Ophthalmology, a subspecialty of Ophthalmology that deals with neurological diseases with eye manifestations.
He completed his undergraduate medical training at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2011 and obtained his Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) in 2019. He joined the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (United Kingdom) and the Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2021. In 2024, he completed a Master of Technology (Intelligent Systems) at NUS-ISS, where he was twice awarded the CEO Honour’s List and received the Best Capstone Project award. From 2024–2025, he undertook a research fellowship at the Stanford Byers Eye Institute, Stanford University, where he also served as a team mentor for Biodesign for Digital Health (Fall Quarter AY 2024–2025). He currently holds appointments as Clinical Lecturer at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Assistant Professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU.
Asst Prof Kelvin previously served as Chief Medical Officer (2018) and Chief Registrar (2020) for the NHG Ophthalmology programme and was part of the Singapore Chief Residency Programme (SCRP) 6th Cohort in 2019. He actively trains junior doctors in leadership roles through his participation in the Resident Engagement and Leadership (REAL) Committee.
He has presented at numerous international, regional, and local conferences and is a reviewer for leading digital health journals. His contributions have been recognized with the Achievement Award from the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (2019) and the Young Investigator Award (Bronze) at the Singapore Healthcare and Biomedical Congress. He also completed the AI for Industry program with AI Singapore and foundational training in AI with Python. His research interests include ocular imaging and the application of data science and artificial intelligence in ophthalmology and healthcare. Passionate about healthcare innovation, he completed the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) Fellowship in Healthcare Innovation and Leadership in 2022 and now serves on the CHI faculty and editorial board. Concurrently, he is the Clinical Lead for Innovation and Digitalisation at TTSH Ophthalmology.

Dr. Wenqing Zhu is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University, China. His clinical and research efforts are dedicated to strabismus and pediatric eye diseases. Dr. Zhu has authored numerous articles in prominent peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Ophthalmology (AJO), British Journal of Ophthalmology (BJO), and Neuroscience Bulletin. He also actively contributes to the scientific community as a reviewer for journals such as Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (IOVS), BMC Ophthalmology, and Frontiers in Medicine. His research has been supported by three grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and his scholarly output includes five professional publications and contributions to two patented inventions.

Professor Xu received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Nanjing University and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree (with distinction) from Brown University. He is the founding associate Dean of College of Biomedicine at City University of Hong Kong. He was listed among Stanford’s Top 2% Highly Cited Scientists (2021–2025) and is a recipient of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (China). His research focuses on the development of transdermal drug delivery formulations and devices, particularly microneedle skin patches. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles (citation count >20,000; h-index = 66).

Dr Wendy Wong is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the National University Hospital and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore. She co-leads the Precision Medicine pillar at the NUS Medicine Centre for Innovation and Precision Eye Health, where her research is focused on establishing a bio-bank for inherited retinal diseases that links genetic and clinical data to support the translation of genomic insights into targeted interventions.

Adjunct Assistant Professor Thng Zheng Xian is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at NHGEI, Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). A valedictorian, he earned numerous distinctions in residency before completing his fellowships in Uveitis and Medical Retina at TTSH and later trained under Professor Quan Dong Nguyen at Stanford through a Ministry of Health scholarship. Dedicated to education, he has held multiple leadership roles and is the chairperson of the Young Members Section of the International Ocular Inflammation Society. His clinical interests include medical retina, uveitis, and ocular inflammation, and he has published widely and lectures internationally.

A/Prof Su graduated with MB BChir PhD from the University of Cambridge (UK) and joined Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) in 2016 as a clinician-scientist. She balances her time leading a broad retinal research programme as Executive Director at IMCB while providing clinical leadership as Senior Consultant Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon with the Department of Ophthalmology at the National University Hospital (NUH). A/Prof Su also holds joint appointments as Research Director at the Department of Ophthalmology, National University of Singapore (NUS), and Clinician-Scientist at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI).
Her research focuses on harnessing biomaterial, regenerative stem-cell, and nucleic acid technologies for the treatment of age-related retinal degenerative disease. Her work has been published in, inter alia, Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Communications, Lancet Global Health, The Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), and Advanced Materials. She has secured over SGD$25 million in competitive research grants, and received numerous prestigious accolades both locally and internationally. These include the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology’s Young Ophthalmologist Award (2019 and 2020), the Asia-Pacific Vitreo-Retinal Society Leadership Development Program Gold Award (2020), Junior Chamber International Ten Outstanding Young People Gold Award for Medical Innovation (2021), the Susan Lim Outstanding Stem Cell Young Investigator Award (2022) and the National Medical Research Council Clinician Scientist Award (2022). In 2021, she was accepted into the prestigious international membership of The Macular Society.
Passionate about clinical translation of research, A/Prof Su holds several patents and co-founded an ISO 13485 (Medical Device Quality System) accredited spin-off company, Vitreogel Innovations, focused on developing the next generation of vitreous substitutes. Dr Simon Szeto is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, CUHK. His research focuses on innovative vitreo-retinal surgical techniques and the surgical management of macular hole and submacular hemorrhage. In addition, he’s also a devoted medical educator who serves as the moderator of residents teaching round and the vice-director of the CUHK Ophthalmic Microsurgical Training Centre.

Dr. Sayan Basu is a clinician-scientist and heads research at the LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) in Hyderabad, India. He is from Kolkata in eastern India, where he did his medical training and residency in ophthalmology. He joined on board as faculty after completing his cornea and anterior segment fellowship at LVPEI. Dr. Basu specializes in managing cases with complex ocular surface disease, with a research focus on scarless corneal wound healing using stem cells, biomaterials, and 3D bioprinting. With over 275 peer-reviewed publications, he is regarded as a key opinion leader in the field of cornea and ocular surface, especially for bridging cutting-edge science with clinical impact. Equally committed to mentorship, he nurtures the next generation of clinician-scientists while serving on editorial boards and contributing to global ophthalmic leadership. His guiding philosophy champions equitable, affordable, and innovative eye care, particularly for underserved communities in developing countries by finding practical and sustainable solutions. Saurabh Jain is a Professor of Ophthalmology at UCL Medical School and a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Royal Free London NHS Trust, and honorary consultant at UCLH hospitals in London, UK.
His areas of clinical expertise include adult strabismus surgery and botox, paediatric ophthalmology, and cataract surgery.
His medical journey in ophthalmology began at King’s College London, followed by specialist registrar training at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, where he undertook a fellowship in adult strabismus surgery. He later pursued further specialization in paediatric ophthalmology at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.
He serves as the International senior examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and has additional examining roles with the International Council of Ophthalmology and the European Board of Ophthalmology. He is also an active member of the council of the European Strabismus Association (ESA) and a member of the research and adult strabismus committees of the American Association for Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS).
His research is primarily centred on strabismus and ocular motility, leading to numerous publications, including research papers, book chapters, and three textbooks. He frequently speaks at international conferences and has been invited to deliver lectures worldwide.

A/Prof Rupesh Agrawal is a Senior Consultant, Head, Research and Clinician Scientist at the NHG Eye Institute at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
After completing his residency and fellowship in Uveitis and Ocular trauma from Sankara Netralaya, Chennai (1999-2003), he was a faculty member at Shri Ganapati Netralaya, Jalna (2003-2008) and L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India (2008-2009). After being awarded the NMRC overseas research training fellowship, he spent time at Moorfields Eye Hospital (MEH), London with Prof Carlos Pavesio and completed his MD (Res) training fellowship at Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London (UCL) (Nov’ 2012 – Oct’ 2014) and is now associated with Institute of Ophthalmology as Research Associate and as Honorary Consultant with MEH. His clinical areas of expertise are ocular inflammatory disorders (uveitis) including ocular tuberculosis and HIV and ocular trauma.
He has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented several papers, lectures on uveitis and ocular trauma. He is a recipient of numerous grants for basic-translational science projects pertinent to ocular inflammation and drug delivery. He is associated with Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) as Co-Head of Ocular infections and antimicrobials, with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as Associate Professor and as Adjunct Associate Professor with Eye ACP Programme at Duke NUS Medical School.

He is currently secretary of International Society of Ocular trauma and Asia Pacific Ophthalmic Trauma Society. He was conferred with Healthcare Humanity Award by President of Singapore (2011) and President Volunteerism Philanthropy Award (PVPA) in 2018 for his humanitarian work across the island and Asia. He also serves as an examiner for Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Glasgow, UK.

A/Prof Rosie Dawkins is a vitro-retinal surgeon at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. She has academic appointments at the Centre for Eye Research Australia and the University of Melbourne. A/Prof Dawkins trained in Ophthalmology in Melbourne, before undertaking fellowship in Cambridge UK. She has held General Sir John Monash and Menzies scholarships to Harvard for postgraduate research. Her research interests lie in excellence in vitro-retinal surgery, specifically in inherited retinal detachments, surgical innovation including the Bionic Eye, and endophthalmitis. She also has an interest in equity and spent a year in Timor Leste training local ophthalmologists, as well as work in Aboriginal peoples health in Australia.

Robyn Guymer is Professor of Ophthalmology at Melbourne University and a deputy director of the Centre for Eye Research Australia. She is also a senior retinal specialist at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. She is a clinician scientist who leads a team of researchers primarily investigating Age related macular degeneration (AMD) and has co-authored over 300 peer reviewed papers. She is currently investigating new strategies for treating early stages of AMD and is working to identify novel imaging and functional biomarkers and surrogate endpoints to improve the feasibility of conducting early intervention trials. She has been a principal investigator in many industry sponsored trials, serves on several pharmaceutical advisory boards and is a member of several international working groups on macular diseases. She is an inaugural fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. Professor Guymer was awarded the NHMRC’s 2016 Elizabeth Blackburn Fellowship for the top ranked female research fellowship in clinical medicine. In June 2018 she was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia AM for significant service to medicine in the field of ophthalmology, particularly age related macular degeneration as a clinician, academic and researcher.

Professor Patrick Yu-Wai-Man is an academic neuro-ophthalmologist with a major research interest in mitochondrial genetics and inherited eye diseases. He holds a tenured Faculty position as Chair of Ophthalmology at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Cambridge Centre for Brain Repair and the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit. In addition to his academic roles, he has joint clinical appointments at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London as an Honorary Consultant Neuro-Ophthalmologist. Professor Yu-Wai-Man is the current President of the European Association for Vision and Eye Research (EVER). He has over 250 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr Norhafizah specializes in paediatric ophthalmology and the current HOD at Hospital Tunku Azizah, the main referral centre for paediatric cases as well as one stop centre for retinoblastoma management and Retinopathy of Prematurity in Malaysia. She is also a visiting consultant in OasisEye Specialist .
She has obtained her specialist training in National University of Malaysia and completed her subspecialty training locally and at Westmead Children Hospital, Sydney in 2018.
She is a panel interviewer for Masters and FRCOpht trainees, a supervisor as well as an examiner for both Masters Exam and CCST.
She is the Chairperson for Malaysian Clinical Practise Guidelines for ROP 3rd edition ( 2023)has given various talks and publication on management of Retinoblastoma and Retinopathy of Prematurity.

Dr. Neto Rosatelli is a Collaborating Professor at the Ophthalmology Department of Universidade Federal de São Paulo UNIFESP – Brazil, also at the Ophthalmology Department of Universidade de São Paulo USP – Brazil, and Adjunct Visiting Professor of the Clinica Oftalmologica del Caribe – Barranquilla, Colombia.
He has been a high-volume cataract surgeon under contract for the Brazilian Public Health System for 28 years.

Dr Mohamad Aziz Salowi is a Public Health Ophthalmologist specialising in cataract services, epidemiology, and prevention of blindness. He heads the Research Unit and Selayang Satellite Cataract Surgery Centre at Hospital Selayang, Ministry of Health Malaysia. He obtained his MBBS from the University of Malaya, Master of Surgery (Ophthalmology) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and completed fellowship training in Public Health Ophthalmology. Working closely with the World Health Organization and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, he leads initiatives on cataract surgery access and surgical outcome monitoring in the Western Pacific Region. His work focuses on improving equitable access to quality eye care, particularly in underserved communities.

Professor Mariya Moosajee is the Head of Genetics at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Professor of Molecular Ophthalmology at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, and Group Leader of Ocular Genomics and Therapeutics at the Francis Crick Institute in London, UK. Her clinical focus is providing genomic medicine to children and adults with all forms of genetic eye disease. She is a world leading researcher in the field of genetic eye disease with over 200 peer-reviewed publications, over 40 international and national prizes and has been named in the top 100 most influential people in ophthalmology worldwide in The Ophthalmologist Power List every year since 2022.

Kyoko Ohno-Matsui is Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Ophthalmology at Institute of Science Tokyo. She is also the Chief of the Advanced Clinical Center for Myopia. Her research focuses on myopia, especially pathologic myopia. She established an international photographic classification of myopic maculopathy. As a method to visualize the shape of the entire globe in high myopes, she established a new technique ‘3D MRI of the eye’ and proposed a novel classification of staphyloma. She has authored or co-authored 423 manuscripts published in peer-reviewed journals. She has been awarded The J. Donald Gass Medal at the Macula Society in 2022, the Jose Rizal Medal at Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology in 2023, and the Duke Elder Medal at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2025.

Justine Smith, FRANZCO, PhD, is a Matthew Flinders Distinguished Professor at Flinders University and a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist at Flinders Medical Centre. She is an elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Professors, and Chair XIII of the Academia Ophthalmologica Internationalis.Justine is an ophthalmologist and scientist who expertise lies in the area of inflammatory eye disease, including infectious and non-infectious forms, and uveitis masquerade syndromes, particularly vitreoretinal lymphoma. She is a Past-President and Past-Executive Vice President of the Association of Research and Vision in Ophthalmology or ARVO. She was recognized in the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours as a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to ophthalmology, particularly research and education.

Dr. Junko Hori is Professor and Director of Ophthalmology at Nippon Medical School Tama-Nagayama Hospital in Tokyo, specializing in uveitis, scleritis, and keratitis. She has led the Ocular Inflammation Service since 2004. She earned her PhD from The University of Tokyo and completed postdoctoral training with Prof. J. Wayne Streilein at Harvard on ocular immune privilege. For over 25 years, she has conducted research in ocular immunology. She serves on the IOVS editorial board and major society boards, including the ARVO Board of Trustees, and has received multiple national and international awards.

Gerd U. Auffarth, MD, Phd, FEBO, is Professor and Chairman of the Dep. of Ophthalmology, University of Heidelberg, Germany, Director of the International Vision Research Centre (IVCRC) and the David J. Apple International Laboratory for Ocular Pathology. His surgical expertise includes cataract, refractive, cornea and glaucoma surgery. He was the first surgeon worldwide to implant a toric, aspheric, multifocal IOL and was ranked in 2014, 2016, 2018 #2, 2020, 2022, 2024 and 2025 as one of the most influential ophthalmologists worldwide.
His main research interests focus on the biomaterial and implant research in cataract and laser surgery of the eye.

Dr. Fam Han Bor is a highly respected international ophthalmologist renowned for his expertise and leadership in cataract and refractive surgery. A graduate of the National University of Singapore, he completed advanced subspecialty training in cornea and refractive surgery in Canada. He founded key clinical services at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and is an elite member of global IOL societies. A prolific educator and author, he has delivered over 600 lectures, published extensively, and received numerous prestigious awards, including the APACRS Gold Award and the 2025 JECIM Istiantoro Lecture.

Professor Donald Tan is a Partner and Senior Consultant at Eye & Retina Surgeons, Camden Medical, and heads the Eye & Cornea Surgeons division of ERS.
A founding doctor of the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), Professor Tan went on to helm SNEC as Medical Director of SNEC from 2008 to 2014. He was the Director of the Singapore Eye Research Institute from 2000 to 2008, and was Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore from 2001 to 2007. He was appointed as the Arthur Lim Professor in Ophthalmology in SNEC’s Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Program within the Duke-NUS Medical School in 2015, and currently remains as Clinical Professor.
Pioneering the development of Corneal Transplantation and Refractive Surgery
Professor Tan is a global leader and innovator in the field of corneal and external diseases, with major contributions to the development of new techniques and devices in corneal transplantation and corneal refractive surgery. He has played a major role in Asia in the introduction of the new forms of corneal transplantation, and developed new techniques for the Asian eye. These include Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK), Descemets Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK), and most recently, Descemets Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK). He developed new surgical instrumentation and medical devices for these operations which have transformed the success of corneal transplants, including the Tan EndoGlide surgical device for DSAEK and DMEK surgery. Recognizing the need to provide donor corneas of the highest quality for Singapore, he has led the Singapore Eye Bank as Medical Director since 1993, which continues to track over 4,000 corneal transplants performed in Singapore. In the field of ocular surface disease, Professor Tan also helped in the development of the conjunctival autograft procedure for pterygium, ocular surface stem cell transplantation, and artificial cornea surgery in the form of the “tooth-in-eye” OOKP (osteo-odonto keratoprosthesis) procedure for the most severe end-stage corneal diseases. In the field of refractive surgery, he introduced the ReLEx SMILE procedure as an alternative to LASIK surgery for the treatment of myopia and astigmatism. Professor Tan also led in the development of clinical trials using low-dose atropine eyedrops used for myopia control in children, which have now been shown to reduce myopia progression by 60% in young children with myopia.
Professor Tan is regarded internationally and regionally for his surgical techniques and expertise as well as for his radical innovations; constantly forging new frontiers in cornea transplantation and refractive surgery. In 2014, Professor Tan was named as the 3rd most influential ophthalmologist on the UK-based Ophthalmologist’s Power List, he then topped the list as the most influential ophthalmologist in 2018, and in 2020, remains on the top 10 list internationally.
Education and Research
Professor Tan has trained 32 corneal transplant surgeons over the last 2 decades, which includes corneal surgeons from 13 countries, and 13 local corneal surgeons. As the lead instructor for advanced corneal transplantation courses in SNEC, he has trained over 70 surgeons globally to perform the newer forms of corneal lamellar transplants.
As a clinician scientist, Professor Tan was the lead investigator of 2 back-to-back S$25 million National Research Foundation Translational Clinical Research Flagship Grants to develop new therapies in cornea, refractive surgery and glaucoma, which has spawned 2 spin-off companies in ocular drug delivery and new ocular antibiotics, and continues to develop new forms of corneal surgery.
In addition to being a past Chairman of the Singapore Eye Research Institute, as well as the a Chairman of the National Medical Research Council, Professor Tan has published over 350 peer-reviewed scientific articles, contributed 18 book chapters, and holds 12 patents in the fields of corneal, refractive surgery and myopia.

Professional and Academic Leadership
Professor Tan is the founding and current President of the Asia Cornea Society, which he formed in 2007, and the founding and current chair of the Association of Eye Banks of Asia (AEBA). In 2012, Professor Tan became the first international President of the Cornea Society, and is currently its immediate Past President. Professor Tan is the Adjunct Professor in Ophthalmology at the Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Program of Duke-National University of Singapore Graduate Medical School, Professor of Ophthalmology of the Department of Ophthalmology NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Adjunct Professor (Honorary) at the Nanyang Technological University.
Professor Tan practices general ophthalmology and cataract surgery, but subspecializes in refractive and corneal surgery, focusing on the newer forms of corneal transplantation such as Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK), Descemets Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK), and Descemets Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK). He also focuses on Artificial Cornea surgery with the Osteo-Odonto Keratoprosthesis and the Boston Keratoprosthesis, Artificial Iris surgery, laser vision correction surgery with LASIK and ReLEx SMILE, and myopia control therapy using low dose atropine eyedrops in children.”

Dr. David Sung Yong Kang is the Founder and Clinical Director of EYEREUM Eye Clinic in Seoul, Korea. He serves as an Associate Adjunct Professor at Yonsei University College of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor at Ulsan University. A fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery & Visual Sciences, he specializes in advanced refractive and cataract surgery, particularly SMILE and presbyopia correction. He has published over 60 SCI-indexed papers and is a multiple recipient of the ASCRS Best Paper Award. He was named to The Ophthalmologist Power List 50 and actively contributes to international academic societies.

Dr Ting is an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and Consultant Ophthalmologist with subspecialty interest in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery. His research interests span basic / translational research, clinical research, and systematic reviews, focusing on corneal infection, antimicrobial drug discovery/development, artificial intelligence, and digital health innovations. To date, he has secured ~£2.8 million research funding as the Principal Investigator, >35 academic awards, and published >160 peer-reviewed publications (>100 first or last-authored papers). He is ranked among the top 0.1% of global experts in the field of corneal infection and inflammation. He currently serves as the Chair of Scientific and Research Committee at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Associate Editor of Eye Open journal.

Christine A. Curcio PhD, a neuroscientist by training, has made seminal contributions to the anatomic and molecular pathobiology of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Using tools of digital histology, her lab has made top-level discoveries about the composition and role of drusen deposits in human AMD while also identifying hallmarks such as early loss of rod photoreceptors, gliosis, and RPE transdifferentiation. Her microscopy studies support multiple clinical diagnostic techniques for ophthalmology, including optical coherence tomography, autofluorescence, adaptive optics, and rod-mediated dark adaptation.

Dr Chou is an Assistant Professor and Vitreoretina and Ocular Oncology Surgeon at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan. He completed his Vitreoretina Fellowship in Taiwan; his Ocular Oncology Clinical Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Royal Liverpool University Hospital. He is the first ocular oncologist in Taiwan to have hands-on surgical training in ocular oncology surgeries. Dr Chou is also a EURETINA mentorship alumnus and received the Silver Award in the APVRS Leadership Development Program. Dr Chou’s clinical and academic interests include ocular oncology and macular surgeries, and he has published extensively in prestigious journals.

Prof Chee Soon Phaik is the Distinguished Professor of Clinical Education in Ophthalmology at the Duke-National University of Singapore Medical School. She is a Senior Consultant of the Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology Service and Ocular Inflammation and Immunology Service at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), where she served as the immediate past head of both the Advanced Cataract Service and the Ocular Inflammation and Immunology Service.
Prof Chee has authored over 300 peer reviewed scientific papers and many book chapters both in complex cataract and uveitis. She serves as a member of several editorial boards including Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Ocular Inflammation and Immunology and Journal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection. She was the Editor for the book ‘Emerging Infectious Uveitis’ and the guest editor for the supplementary journal to Ocular Inflammation and Immunology that collated the Epidemiology of Uveitis in Asia Pacific.
Prof Chee’s research interests in cataract include the management of complicated cataracts such as the posterior polar cataract, subluxated cataracts, advanced cataracts, premium intraocular lens implants and femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery. She is also known for inventing a number of surgical instruments for the management of complex cataract surgeries.
In the field of uveitis, she has been the President of the Asia-Pacific Intraocular Inflammation Study Group (APIISG) since 2013 and a member of the International Uveitis Study Group and an International Council member of the IOIS. She has published extensively on Cytomegalovirus infection of the anterior segment in the immunocompetent, Ocular Tuberculosis, Dengue Maculopathy and Vogt-Koyanagi Harada disease.

Dr Chan Hwei Wuen is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in the Department of Ophthalmology at National University Hospital (NUH) and Alexandra Hospital (AH). She serves as the Ophthalmology Lead at the National University Centre for Genomic Medicine (NUGEM). In addition, Dr Chan holds joint academic and research appointments as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), and Senior Principal Scientist at the Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology, A*STAR.
From 2021 to 2024, Dr Chan was the Programme Director of the Ophthalmology Residency Programme at the National University Health System (NUHS), leading the transition from ACGME International to APMES (Accreditation in Postgraduate Medical Education in Singapore), with the programme receiving the full accreditation. She remains actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and has been recognised for teaching excellence with the NUS Medical Society Outstanding Tutor Award and the NUS Special Recognition Award for undergraduate medical teaching.
Dr Chan received formal medical education at the University College London (UCL) with undergraduate exposure to Ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Institute of Ophthalmology. She completed residency training in Ophthalmology at the NUH and served as the Chief Resident.
She was the recipient of the MOH Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship award to pursue advanced subspeciality training in the UK and Belgium. Her time at Moorfields Eye Hospital with Professors Alan Bird, Andrew Webster, Michel Michaelides and Omar Mahroo was focused on paediatric and adult Ophthalmic Genetics. At the Ghent University Hospital, Belgium, she trained under Prof Bart Leroy and was involved in several gene therapy clinical trials including Luxturna® and Sepofarsen for treatment of biallelic RPE65- and CEP290-associated Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA), respectively.
Dr Chan is a specialist in both medical and surgical retina with a special interest in Inherited Retinal Diseases (IRD) and Ophthalmic Genetics. She currently leads a dedicated IRD service at NUH for local and international patients. She is the founding chair of the Asia Pacific Inherited Eye Disease (APIED) network, which connects IRD specialists around the Asia Pacific region, fostering innovation through collaboration. Her main research areas include phenotype-genotype correlation studies in IRD with a special interest in ABCA4-related retinopathy for which she was awarded the NMRC Clinician Scientist Individual Research Grant New Investigator Grant (CS-IRG-NIG), RNA-based and cell-based therapeutic for retinal degeneration. Dr Chan is also the founding member of the EURETINA IRD & Paediatric Retina Subspecialty Group and Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK). Aside from her sub-specialty interests, Dr Chan also performs complex cataract surgery.

Prof. Carlo Rivolta leads the Ophthalmic Genetics Group at the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel (IOB), Switzerland, and holds professorial positions at the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel (Professor of Ophthalmic Genetics) and the University of Leicester, UK (Honorary Professor of Medical Genetics). He is an internationally recognised researcher and speaker in ophthalmic genetics and has published extensively in numerous medical journals. His overarching professional focus is on advancing human genetics at the interface of fundamental discovery and clinical application, ultimately contributing to better outcomes for individuals affected by retinal and other ocular diseases.

Dr Avinash Pathengay is the Network Director of Education at LVPEI and heads the Standard Chartered – LVPEI Academy for Eye Care Education. LVPEI’s ‘Just A Minute (JAM) clinical pearls,’ a digital learning emailer in ophthalmology and optometry, which received a phenomenal response from the global eye care fraternity, is his brainchild.
He conceptualized several other innovative learning tools and, under his leadership, LVPEI’s education training programs and collaborations have been further strengthened with a strong digital component. He has been associated with LVPEI since 2001 and played an integral role in establishing the retina services at the institute’s GMR Varalakshmi Campus in Visakhapatnam.
After graduating from the Stanley Medical College, Dr Pathengay did his ophthalmology residency at Madras Medical College. He subsequently pursued a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Sankara Nethralaya, followed by a one-year fellowship with Dr Harry Flynn at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, USA.
Dr Pathengay is a co-founder of RETNETINDIA, a group with over 950 retinal surgeons in India. He has delivered over 100 presentations at international and national conferences, published 147 peer-reviewed papers, and authored nine chapters in various textbooks.
He was honoured as an Outstanding International Scholar by the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, USA, and ranked in second position as an expert in endophthalmitis by the Expertscape Daily Experts. He has also received several awards for his presentations at forums such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Asia Pacific Ophthalmological Society, and the World Ophthalmology Congress.
With a keen interest in botany, Dr Pathengay enjoys engaging discussions on plants and gardening. The Sensory and Mobility Park at LVPEI’s Kode Venkatadri Chowdary campus in Vijayawada and the award-winning gardens at the GMR Varalakshmi campus in Visakhapatnam are among his notable contributions to the Institute.

Dr. Ashvin after completing his med school and post-graduation in ophthalmology, Dr. Ashvin gave his International Council of Ophthalmology – ICO Part 1. He then worked with in Bascom Palmer Institute, Miami, Florida & Price Vision Group, Indianapolis. Trained in Refractive and Corneal Surgeries. Headed back to Dr. Agarwal Eye Hospital, Chennai, India. Worked in cataract division and had been working ever Since then he has been practicing at Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital till date and is the Managing Director of Orbit Healthcare Pvt Ltd. Dr. Ashvin has performed over 15000 surgeries so far. He specializes in a niche segment of complex Cataract care management, Corneal refractive surgeries and anterior segment repair procedures.

Dr. Anthony Kuo is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. He is a clinician-scientist with an active clinical practice in cornea and refractive surgery and an active laboratory program developing and translating optical coherence tomography (OCT) technologies for ophthalmic use in close collaboration with Duke Biomedical Engineering. Together, they have developed and piloted novel systems such as whole eye, robotically aligned, and intra-operative OCT systems under grant support from the National Institutes of Health. He is also a recent recipient of Research to Prevent Blindness’s Physician Scientist Award.

Andrew Lotery is Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Southampton. He has published over 400 papers and led more than 100 retinal clinical trials. His research focuses on retinal diseases. He has received prestigious research awards including the Nettleship medal from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Henkind award from the Macula Society. He was named one of the UK’s top 100 doctors by The Times. He served as Editor-in-chief of Eye for 10 years and is Honorary Secretary of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He currently leads major studies funded by the Wellcome Trust and NIHR.

Dr. T. Y. Alvin Liu, the James P. Gills Jr. M.D. and Heather Gills Rising Professor of Artificial Intelligence in Ophthalmology, completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship training at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). He is also the Inaugural Director of Gills AI Innovation Center, which is the first dedicated endowed ($10 million) AI center at the JHU School of Medicine. He specializes in the implementation and scaling of healthcare artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in both clinical and operational domains, for example autonomous AI for diabetic retinopathy screening and generative AI for revenue cycle management. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology AI Committee, and is on the leadership team at JAMA + AI, a super channel that aggregates all AI content across the network of JAMA academic journals.

Dr. Akshay G. Nair is a consultant ophthalmic plastic surgeon and ocular oncologist practicing in Mumbai, India affiliated with Dr. Agarwals Group of Eye Hospitals and Sir HN Reliance Hospital, Mumbai. He completed residency training at Sankara Nethralaya, India and advanced fellowship training at L V Prasad Eye Institute and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, USA. Dr Adrian Koh is a Founding Partner and Senior Consultant at the Eye & Retina Surgeons, Camden Medical; Director, Retinal Centre International, and Vice-President of the International Retinal Foundation. He is Visiting Consultant to the Vitreoretinal Service, Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and Visiting Consultant to the Eye Institute, Tan Tock Seng Hospital; He is Council Member of the College of Ophthalmologists, Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He is the immediate Past President of the Singapore Society of Ophthalmology. He was Congress Vice-President & Secretary-General of the 21st Congress of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) held in Singapore. He is the founding Chairman and Honorary Adviser to the Retinitis Pigmentosa Society of Singapore. He is also member of Retina International and the Asia-Pacific Advisory Board for Photodynamic Therapy, Lucentis and Medical Retina.

He trained under Medical Retina specialists, Professors Alan C Bird, Susan Lightman and Graham Holder from Moorfields Eye Institute of London, and Professors Bradley Straatsma, John Heckenlively, Steven Schwartz, Kent Small and Marc Yoshizumi of the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. The recipient of numerous awards, Dr Koh has authored or edited many publications in the field of ophthalmology.
His areas of expertise include degenerative macular disease such as age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, choroidal neovascularisation, inherited retinal diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa, visual electrophysiology, fundus angiography and retinal vascular disease.
In diagnostics, his expertise is identifying and evaluating retinal diseases. He receives referrals from eye and retinal specialists both locally and from the region, for expert opinion and advice on management of these complex and sometimes rare cases. In the field of visual electrophysiology, he studied under Professors Graham Holder and Geoffrey Arden and helped establish an ISCEV-standards visual electrophysiology laboratory at the Singapore National Eye Centre.
In the field of macular degeneration, he specializes in the use of verteporfin photodynamic therapy, anti-VEGF therapy and combination therapy in Asia. He also specializes in the use of laser techniques using the PASCAL system, and intravitreal adjunctive therapies such as Lucentis and Triamcinolone for the treatment of severe diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular oedema, retinal vein obstruction and other retinal vascular diseases.

Professor Paul J. Foster is the Senior Consultant in the Glaucoma Department at SNEC. He graduated from Nottingham University Medical School and obtained his PhD in Ophthalmic Epidemiology from the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. He has been an Honorary Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Glaucoma Service, Moorfields Eye Hospital since 2004, and has served as Professor of Ophthalmic Epidemiology and Glaucoma Studies at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology since 2011. He has directed key programmes in Population & Data Sciences and Translational Data Sciences in the UK and also conducted major glaucoma trials such as the ZAP Trial in China and the multicentre EAGLE Trial.
Widely recognised for his contributions to ophthalmic epidemiology and glaucoma research, Professor Foster has achieved significant international impact with his leadership of major population‑based studies in Mongolia, China and was the Ophthalmology Lead for the UKBiobank. His expertise spans clinical, epidemiological and real‑world data integration to address population health challenges, particularly in preventive eye care and early disease detection.
Through his appointment to SingHealth, Professor Foster will help advance large‑scale, data‑driven population health initiatives in ophthalmology and beyond and further strengthen research capabilities across SNEC, SERI and CPHRI. His global standing and established international networks will enhance the research visibility and competitiveness of the SingHealth Duke‑NUS Academic Medical Centre. In addition, his strong track record in mentorship will support the development of clinician‑scientists and population health research talent.

Dr. Paisan Ruamviboonsuk is the former President of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand (2013-2016) and the Thai Retina Society (2011-2014).
He currently serves in many positions in ophthalmology societies. These include a Vice-President of Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO), the Scientific Secretary of Asia-Pacific Vitreo-Retina Society (APVRS), a Council Member of and Asia-Pacific Ocular Imaging Society, a Vice-President of Asia-Pacific Teleophthalmology Society, and the Secretary-General of Association of Southeast Asian Nations Ophthalmology Society. He is also an International Trustee in the Board of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
For APVRS, he is also the Deputy Chair of APVRS Leadership Development Program. As the Chair of Consensus Development and Publication, he recently published 9 consensus papers on retinal diseases.
He is an Editorial Board member of Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology. He has published 123 articles, 5,741 citations, h-index: 32, and 5 chapters in ophthalmology books, such as Artificial Intelligence in Ophthalmology, Digital Eye Care and Teleophthalmology, and Macular Surgery Current Practice and Trends.
He received several distinguished national and international awards, such as the Chainat-Narenthorn Award, the highest award for a goverment officer in the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand, given by H.M. King Rama X of Thailand in 2020, the APAO Arthur Lim Award Lecturer in 2018, the AAO Achievement Award in 2018.
Dr. Paisan has studied on screening for diabetic retinopathy using retinal photographs since the early 2000s. The screening has become a national program in Thailand. In 2022, he received Sasakawa Health Prize from the World Health Organization from his initiative on prevention of diabetic blindness in Thailand.
In 2024, he received APVRS Dennis Lam Lecture award. In 2025, he is inducted as a fellow in the Academy of Asia-Pacific Professors of Ophthalmology, and an international fellow in the first batch of 12 fellows of the AAO.

Dan MILEA, MD, PhD is a Neuro-Ophthalmologist and Clinician Scientist, currently Head of the Neuro-Ophthalmology department and Director of Rothschild BRAIN Lab, at the Rothschild Foundation Hospital, in Paris, France. He is also Co-Director of the Rothschild Institute of Optic Nerve and Glaucoma in Paris.
As a clinician neuro-ophthalmologist with research interests in Visual Neurosciences, Dan Milea has a particular interest in Artificial Intelligence applied to identification of diseases affecting the eye and/or the brain.
Currently, he is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal “Neuro-Ophthalmology”. In 2025, he was voted among the 50 most influential ophthalmologists worldwide.

Professor Chi Chin Sun graduated from the School of Medicine, College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan in 1994. Dr. Tomoyuki Kashima “graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Gunma University in 2002 and completed his residency training in general ophthalmology at the same institution. From 2005 to 2007, he completed a fellowship in oculoplastic surgery at Seirei Hamamatsu General Hospital in Shizuoka.
In 2007, he returned to Gunma University, where he served as the head of oculoplastic and orbital surgery. From 2010 to 2018, he was a council member of the Asian Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (APSOPRS). He further advanced his training through an international fellowship at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute from 2015 to 2016.
After returning to Japan, he recognized the limitations of academic practice in delivering advanced oculoplastic care to a broader patient population. To provide cutting-edge treatment nationwide, he chose to pursue private practice rather than returning to academia, with a vision of building a national clinical network.
He currently operates a group of advanced, ambulatory oculoplastic surgery centers across six locations in Japan, including Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Fukuoka. His group performs over 10,000 oculoplastic procedures annually, including approximately 2,500 cases under general anesthesia. He is particularly recognized for performing around 250 orbital decompression surgeries per year, representing one of the highest volumes in Japan.
Dr. Kashima is also deeply committed to education, having trained more than 30 fellows to date. In 2026, he founded the Japanese Society of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, aiming to integrate functional and aesthetic approaches in oculoplastic care.”

Dr. Preethi Naveen is an accomplished corneal and refractive surgeon with over 12 years of clinical experience. She specializes in managing complex anterior segment surgeries and demonstrates exceptional expertise in advanced corneal transplant procedures, including PDEK and CAIRS techniques.
Beyond her clinical excellence, Dr. Naveen is a dedicated educator and mentor, training numerous ophthalmology students and fellow surgeons in advanced surgical techniques and nuanced procedural approaches. Her commitment to knowledge dissemination and surgical mentorship has established her as a respected authority in corneal surgery. Dr. Naveen combines cutting-edge clinical practice with a passion for teaching excellence.

Glenn Jay Jaffe has an active basic and clinical research program. He has been principal investigator on several funded clinical studies including investigations of an oral ganciclovir prodrug to treat CMV retinitis and a study to determine the safety of a cyclosporine sustained drug delivery implant in the treatment of uveitis. He is principal investigator of an ongoing multicenter trial of a fluocinolone sustained drug delivery implant to treat patients with severe uveitis and a trial of this same implant to treat diabetic macular edema. Recently, he has investigated the use of ultrasonography and optical coherence tomography to diagnose macular edema in a variety of ocular diseases. He has maintained an ongoing basic research program to test the hypothesis that cytokines are important in the development of proliferative vitreoretinopathy, an important intraocular wound healing disorder.
Education: He is actively involved in resident and fellow education. He gives lectures to residents and fellows on a variety of topics related to uveitis and vitreoretinal diseases and trains fellows to perform vitreoretinal surgery. He trains post-doctoral students and medical students to conduct clinically relevant research. He serves as a mentor for the Duke third year medical school research program. He has served on a yearly basis as course faculty at many national and international meetings.

Dr. Federico Luengo Gimeno, MD, PhD, is Founder and Medical Director of SkySight Vision Center in Argentina. He serves as Head of the Cornea Section at Hospital Universitario Austral and holds academic appointments as Associate Professor at Universidad Católica de las Misiones and Adjunct Professor at Universidad Austral. Dr. Luengo Gimeno trained under internationally recognized leaders including Enrique Malbran, Jod Mehta, Donald Tan and Fernando Arasanz. For more than 20 years, his work has focused on corneal transplantation and innovation in anterior segment surgery. Namrata Saroj, OD has over 20 years of experience focusing on global development and commercialization of new drugs and technologies advancing Ophthalmic care. Her extensive understanding of the Ophthalmology clinical and commercial landscapes is founded on her diverse experiences working across multiple programs. She has been a significant contributor towards the commercialization of both Lucentis and Eylea, two of the most successful biologic products in this sector.  Dr. Saroj’s leadership has been recognized through her vast network of prominent clinical and industry leaders.  She has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in management of Ophthalmic diseases.
Currently, Dr. Saroj is the Chief Business Officer at Ocular Therapeutix. Additionally, as Principal of All Eyes Consulting, LLC, she collaborates with companies across various stages from early start-ups to late-stage development and commercialization. In this capacity, she has effectively helped these companies with strategic partnerships, clinical development and trial enrollment, launch preparation commercialization support.  She is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Advisor of Clinical Trials Resource Group, a CRO focused on executing Ophthalmology clinical trials.
Prior to this, she led the Ophthalmology Medical Affairs team as an Executive Director at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc integrally involved in the global commercialization of Eylea.  Dr. Saroj has previously held positions at Genentech and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital.
Dr. Saroj is the President of Association for Macular Diseases, a non-profit organization offering support to individuals, their families, friends, and the professional community.
She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of California at Berkeley. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Optometry from the University of California at Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Whittier College.

Professor Calvin Pang is S.H. Ho Research Professor of Visual Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and Director of the Shantou University/CUHK Joint Shantou International Eye Center. He is also an Honorary Fellow of The College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong, and the Immediate-Past Chairman, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, CUHK.
Prof Pang’s current research in molecular genomics of eye diseases includes; glaucoma, vitreoretinal diseases, myopia, thyroid eye disease, uveitis, retinoblastoma and inherited retina diseases. He studies green tea catechins and GHRHR agonists/antagonists in ocular oxidative stress, inflammation, and degeneration. Prof Pang also advocates the concept of “health care through children eye care” based on his work on children’s eye diseases.
Prof Pang has served as expert reviewer, external examiner and honorary/visiting professor of over 60 research funding organisations and top academic institutions worldwide, including the Wellcome Trust, European Research Council, National Eye Institute (USA), ARVO, National Medical Research Council and Ministry of Health (Singapore), National Science Foundation China, Changjiang Scholar Program China, University of Melbourne, National University of Singapore, Purdue University, Aravind Medical Research Foundation (India), and Peking University. He is also Vice-President of the Asia-Pacific Myopia Society and convener of the visual sciences programmes of more than 20 international congresses, and has delivered over 300 invited lectures in international conferences and high academic institutions globally.
As of June 2026, Prof Pang has contributed over 690 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, with a H-index of 92.

Dr. Karl Golnik is Professor at the Barrow Neuroscience Institute, Creighton University and the University of Arizona. He has received the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Lifetime Achievement award, the North American Neuro-ophthalmology Society’s Merit Award and more than 10 teaching awards throughout his career. He has given more than 1200 invited neuro-ophthalmology and medical education lectures in more than 75 countries and has over 160 publications in these fields. He currently serves as a Board member and Chair for Education of the Ophthalmology Foundation and as Board member and Treasurer for the International Joint Commission On Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO).

Dujeepa is an internationally recognised leader in medical and health professions education, currently serving as Head and Senior Director of the Centre for Medical Education (CenMED) at National University of Singapore. With over two decades of experience shaping curriculum transformation, educational quality assurance, and faculty development, Dr. Samarasekera is acclaimed for his strategic contributions to global standards in health professions education. His extensive portfolio includes board appointments with the AMEE, American University of Caribbean, Houdao Academy Advisory Board Peking University.as well as editorial leadership of The Asia Pacific Scholar. Notably, Dr. Samarasekera served as Advisor to the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) Education Research Working Committee and Education Committee from 2015 to 2018, supporting innovation and research in ophthalmic education. His leadership is further reflected in his guidance on accreditation panels, authorship of high-impact publications, and keynote presentations at major international forums. Prof Fatimah Lateef is Singapore’s first Emergency Physician-Politician and served as Member of Parliament from 2006 to 2020. She is Senior Consultant and Director of Patient Safety and Quality at Singapore General Hospital, and Adjunct Professor at Duke-NUS, Yong Loo Lin NUS, and LKC, NTU Medial Schools. Fatimah is Director of the Singhealth Duke NUS Institute of Medical Simulation (SIMS) and is instrumental for bringing SIMS towards international Accreditation by SSH (Society for Simulation in Healthcare, USA). She represents Singapore EM globally including on the Board of the World Academic Council in EM. Her interests include patient safety, medical education, simulation, Technology enhanced learning, leadership and communications, and humanitarian medicine. Internationally recognised for her contributions to academic emergency medicine and simulation science research, she has received over 80 awards, including the prestigious Duke-NUS Master Academic Clinician Award 2025.

Dr. Rolando Enrique Domingo is the Coordinator for Noncommunicable Diseases at the World Health Organization Regional Office for the Western Pacific, based in Manila. He is a seasoned public health leader with over two decades of experience in clinical practice, health policy, and international health systems. An ophthalmologist by training, he has specialized expertise in ocular oncology and pathology, alongside training in public health. He is Professor at the University of the Philippines and prior to joining WHO, he served in senior leadership roles in the Philippines, including Director of the Philippine General Hospital, Undersecretary of Health and Director General of the Food and Drug Administration.

Ms Snigdha is Network Associate Director at the internationally renowned L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI). She is a full-time leader in the institution, where she heads global collaborations, training programmes, digital education initiatives, and academic research partnerships. Ms Snigdha has been involved in strategic leadership, education, and international partnerships related to global eye health for over 15 years. She is a recognized speaker, educator, manager, and innovator, combining a background in optometry with an MBA and leadership training from IIM Kolkata. Currently, she is extensively involved in national and international education and development related to building sustainable eye care programmes. She is deeply committed to mentorship and developing future-ready healthcare ecosystems worldwide.

Ting Fang is a Senior Resident at the Singapore National Eye Center. She graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (Class of 2020), and was awarded the Khong Ban Tze Gold Medal in Orthopaedic Surgery, and Dean’s List 2018 and 2020. She completed the SNEC-SERI Clinical Academic Fellowship Program in the Singhealth Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Health team, where she worked closely with engineers to explore and integrate digital technology into healthcare and Ophthalmology. She has a strong interest in global eye health, participates actively in community outreach locally and globally, and believes in fostering collaboration with likeminded peers, to make eye care more accessible, through innovation and capacity building.

Dr. Med. Karim Mohamed Noriega is a full-time professor and cornea clinic head in the Ophthalmology Department, University Hospital, Faculty of Medicine in the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) in Monterrey, Mexico. He has been involved in postgraduate and undergraduate education, clinical and surgical management, and research for over 15 years. He completed a cornea fellowship at SNEC and SERI. His main interests include corneal transplantation, dry eye, ocular surface, cornea and external diseases, and cataract surgery. Has 42 indexed papers, 1099 citations, an h-index 15, and serves on the editorial board of the Ophthalmology section of Frontiers in Medicine.

Prof. Wei Ruihua is the medical director and professor at Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital. She serves on the National Health Science Popularization Expert Database and the National Expert Committee for Myopia Prevention and Control in Children and Adolescents. Prof. Wei specializes in pediatric myopia management, high myopia complications, and contact lens practice, having performed over 10,000 microsurgeries including cataract, refractive, and keratoplasty procedures. She has led three NSFC projects and published over 240 papers (100+ as first/corresponding author in SCI

Dr. Niccolo Valencia took his fellowship in Refractive Surgery at Asian Eye Institute and Surgical Retina fellowship at Singapore National Eye Centre.
He is the retina fellowship training officer at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital and the Head of Retina Section in the Healthway FEU-NRMF Medical Center in the Philippines. He is also a member of the research committee of the University of Santo Tomas Hospital Department of Ophthalmology. He is a member of both the Vitreo-retina Society of the Philippines and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
He has been a vitreoretinal specialist for almost 10 years and his practice focuses on diabetic retinal detachments and other VR surgeries.

Majda Hadzihametovic, M.D., received her M.D. from University of Belgrade School of Medicine in 2006, followed by Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, Scheie Eye Institute, from 2007 to 2012. After completing a year of General Surgery training at Drexel University College of Medicine in 2012, she completed Ophthalmology Residency at the same institution from 2013 to 2016, where she served as a chief resident during her final year. After finishing Medical Retina training at Duke, in 2017 she joined the faculty.
Dr. Hadziahmetovic’s is a clinician scientist with present research agenda focused on teleophthalmology. She is particularly interested in employing remote diagnosis in early diagnosis, suitable referral and timely treatment of diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration using cutting-edge noninvasive optic coherence tomography (OCT) imaging and fundus photography.

Dr. Vajzovic is a vitreoretinal surgeon and tenured Professor of Ophthalmology at Duke University School of Medicine with expertise in adult and pediatric retinal diseases and surgery.
Dr. Vajzovic is passionate about translational research and collaborates closely with Duke biomedical engineers to develop imaging devices to improve ophthalmic care. She serves as a principal investigator for numerous national clinical trials in early to late stages of development. .

Dr. Nan-Kai Wang is a physician-scientist and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Linkou Medical Center, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, and Chang Gung University. He has been involved in research, education, and clinical treatment related to vitreoretinal diseases, genetics, and inherited retinal diseases (IRDs). An internationally recognized speaker, clinician, and extensively published researcher, he focuses on translational medicine for retinal degeneration. Dr. Wang maintains active grants and a laboratory at Columbia University alongside his work in Taiwan, and is extensively involved in global medical education and mentorship.

Dilraj Grewal, MD is a tenured Professor of Ophthalmology at the Duke Eye Center and serves as the Associate Director of the Duke Reading Center, a comprehensive image reading center that is a leader in analysis of ophthalmic images in multi-center clinical trials. He specializes in the medical and surgical management of patients with complex Vitreoretinal pathology and Uveitis. He joined the Duke Eye Center following completion of his Vitreoretinal Surgery fellowship at Duke and Uveitis fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Dr. Grewal is focused on treating patients with new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities available as well as investigating several others in the pipeline to better help patients with these potentially blinding diseases.
He has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards including the Ronald G. Michels Foundation Fellowship Award, the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship Award, Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Rhett Buckler and Presidential Awards from American Society of Retina Specialists. He is an elected member of Retina Society, Clubs Jules Gonin and serves on the executive committee of the Macula Society.
Dr. Grewal has authored over 250 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and over 300 presentations at national and international meetings. His research interests span assessment of retinal changes in neurodegenerative diseases, clinical research activities in advanced ocular imaging, surgical techniques and clinical trials for both Retina and Uveitis.

Dr. Bu Shaochong is a consultant ophthalmologist (Supervisor of Master’s students) in the Cataract Department of Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital, China. He began his ophthalmology career at the same institution in 2003. From 2004 to 2006, he completed a clinical fellowship at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), an experience that profoundly shaped his surgical expertise and international perspective. In 2015, he earned his PhD in Ophthalmology from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands.
Dr. Bu has actively contributed to global ophthalmic humanitarian missions. He served in the National Health Commission’s “Brightness Action” in Pyongyang (2019) and led cataract surgery initiatives in Gansu and Tibet, where he established a same-day cataract surgery center and was honored as an Outstanding Aid-Tibet Talent.

Sharon Fekrat MD is a vitreoretinal surgeon at Duke Health, Robert Machemer MD Distinguished Professor of Ophthalmology and Vice Chair Ophthalmology Faculty Affairs at Duke University School of Medicine, and Associate Chief of Staff in Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She has authored >250 publications, >50 book chapters, edited several books including Duke Manual of Vitreoretinal Surgery, is an AJO Executive Editor, and Digital Journal of Case Reports in Ophthalmology Chief Editor. She leads iMIND multidisciplinary research program advancing retinal imaging and AI to identify neurodegenerative diseases.

Christopher Leung is Chairperson and Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), Director of HKU Eye Centre, Chief of Service in the Department of Ophthalmology at Queen Mary Hospital. He read a MSc in Molecular Medicine at the Imperial College London, obtained his medical training (MB ChB) and doctoral education (MD) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and completed a clinical and research fellowship at the Hamilton Glaucoma Center, University of California San Diego. Research and service awards Dr. Leung received include the ARVO Clinician-Scientist Research Award (2010), WGA Science Award (2009 and 2011), AAO Senior Achievement Award (2015) and Secretariat Award (2012), and WITSA Global Information and Communications Excellence Award (2019), among others. Dr. Leung serves on the Editorial Board of American Journal of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, Translational Vision Science & Technology, Asia Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology, Journal of Glaucoma, and International Glaucoma Review.

Dr. Virna Asroy is a lecturer in Ophthalmology Department FMUI for medical students, registrars and fellows since 2008 and  assisting the students in doing the research. Nowadaysshe is  the chair of Indonesian Glaucoma society (IGS). She has been doing researches and publications. The IGS is actively doing conferences and webinars to spread glaucoma awareness in Indonesia. She is also invited to have talks in regional and international ophthalmologists conferences. Since 2022 she is appointed as Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society Board member. The ongoing research now are comparing Melbourne rapid field test and HFA and completing the long term follow up of Virna Glaucoma implant.

Clinical Associate Professor Arundhati Anshu is a Senior Consultant with the Corneal & External Eye Disease Department at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). She graduated from SCB Medical College, Utkal University, India in 1997 and was awarded Honours and Gold Medal in General Surgery, Pharmacology and Pathology. She did her Masters in Surgery (Ophthalmology) from Utkal University and became a Member of Royal College of Edinburgh in 2002. In addition to management of cataract and anterior segment disorders, Clin Assoc Prof Anshu’s clinical interests are in the areas of corneal transplantation, corneal infections and LASIK refractive surgery.

Dr Yvonne Ling is a Senior Consultant with the Paediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus Department at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). She graduated from the University of Singapore, and obtained the Fellowship in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She practices general ophthalmology and subspecialises in Adult Strabismus & Paediatric Ophthalmology. As the first clinical head of Strabismus & Paediatric Ophthalmology subspecialty in SNEC, she has been instrumental in setting up and establishing the various clinical services important in the subspecialty. These include management of strabismus for adults and children, amblyopia, retinopathy of prematurity, botulinum injections for strabismus, myopia, retinoblastoma, genetic eye diseases and electrophysiology support. Prof Saw Seang Mei is the SERI Professor of Ophthalmology Research, Duke-NUS Medical School; Head, Myopia Unit, Singapore Eye Research Institute, and Professor of Epidemiology, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore (NUS). She is the Deputy Co-Chair (Biomedical) of the NUS Institutional Review Board (IRB). Dr Milton Chew is a Consultant with the Ocular Inflammation & Immunology Department at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. Professor Marcus Ang is the Head & Senior Consultant with the Corneal & External Eye Disease and Refractive Surgery Service at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). He also serves as Advisor at the SNEC Myopia Center. He was awarded Dean’s List at the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Best Houseman Award followed by Best Registrar Award in his early clinical practice. His other early academic achievements include the Ministry of Health Scholarship, Masters in Clinical Investigation (NUS) and Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology, NUS). Prof Schmetterer is head of Ocular Imaging and Scientific Director at SERI. His interests span a wide range of imaging from development of novel technology towards applications in preclinical research and clinics. Prof Schmetterer is also interested in clinical trials and is involved in many studies in retina, glaucoma, cornea and dry eye. He has published more than 390 peer reviewed publications, was invited for more than 200 lectures; including more than 15 key note lectures and been awarded more than 30 million Euro in research grant funding. Clinical Associate Professor Sharon Tow is a Senior Consultant in the Neuro-Ophthalmology department at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). She completed her medical training at the University of Sydney. She underwent basic surgical training in ophthalmology in Edinburgh, Scotland where she attained the FRCSEd and continued her advanced surgical training in ophthalmology at the Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore. She then embarked on the subspecialty of Neuro-ophthalmology, completing advanced Fellowship training in Neuro-ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore in 2001. On her return to SNEC, she helped develop the Neuro-ophthalmology department, and since 2006, has been the head of this busy service.

Dr Daniel Chua is a Senior Consultant with the Cataract & Comprehensive Ophthalmology Department and Refractive Surgery Department at the Singapore National Eye Centre.
During his training in the SingHealth Ophthalmology Residency Program, Dr Chua was awarded the SingHealth Best Resident (Ophthalmology) in 2012. He obtained his Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology in 2014 and his Ophthalmology Specialist accreditation from Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2016. Professor Gemmy Cheung is a Senior Consultant of the Medical Retina Department and Cataract & Comprehensive Ophthalmology Department at Singapore National Eye Centre. She is also the Head of the Retina Research Group at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) and Professor of Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore. Professor Cheung has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles mostly in Age-related Macular Degeneration and Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy, and has completed several clinical trials in anti-vascular endothelial growth factor therapies in her capacity as a Principle Investigator. A/Prof Gavin Tan is the Head of the Surgical Retinal Department of the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC); the Vice Chair for Strategy, Innovation, and organisational transformation; and the Head of the Ocular Diagnostics Department. He is a visiting senior consultant at the KK Women and children’s hospital, the biggest maternal and child hospital in Singapore where he pioneered the establishment of the paediatric retina service. He also played a pivotal role in founding the country’s first ocular oncology and brachytherapy service. He also holds appointment as a clinician scientist at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) and as an Associate professor with the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. In addition, A/Prof Tan is the Clinical Director of the SNEC Ocular Reading Centre (SORC), where he spearheaded the development of Singapore’s diabetic retinopathy (DR) telemedicine screening program and successfully integrated the artificial intelligence into DR screening. His primary research focus is on diabetic retinopathy in which he has secured major grants in multimodal imaging in retinopathy, as well as the use of AI and deep retinal imaging to explore the eye as a window to diabetic complications. A strong advocate for digital health and innovation, A/Prof Tan has developed telemedicine-based virtual imaging clinics and digital solutions aimed at enhancing patient care.

Dr Stephen Ng is a Senior Consultant in the Oculoplastic Department of the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). He obtained his medical degree from the University of Otago in New Zealand in 1987. In 1997 he gained Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO). From 1997 to 2000, he undertook post-fellowship training in England including a fellowship in oculoplastic, lacrimal & orbital surgery at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. In 2000, Dr Ng was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmic, Oculoplastic & Orbital Surgeon at Waikato Hospital, New Zealand. Dr Choo Chai Teck​ is the Clinical Director (Aesthetic Eyeplastic) and Senior Consultant with the Oculoplastic Department. Clinical Associate Professor Quah graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1987 and was trained in Ophthalmology at the Singapore General Hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). From 1998 – 1999 he was an International Fellow at The Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto, where he underwent training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. Beau Fenner, MD, PhD, is a Consultant Ophthalmologist in the Department of Medical Retina at the Singapore National Eye Centre. He completed undergraduate and PhD studies in Molecular Biology in Western Australia prior to undertaking postdoctoral research at the National University of Singapore and the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. Associate Professor Audrey Chia graduated from the University of Sydney and completed her ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital. She returned to Singapore in 2000 and worked as an Ophthalmology Registrar at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) before doing a Paediatric Ophthalmology fellowship at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London. Assoc Prof Monisha Nongpiur, is a Clinician Scientist and Junior Principal Investigator at the Singapore Eye Research Institute. She balances both clinical and research related work in Glaucoma, and her main clinical research interest is primary angle closure glaucoma. Her research is focused on a better understanding of the clinical course, risk factors/disease mechanisms, genetics, and also to develop risk assessment models for the condition.

Dr Fiona Lim graduated from National University of Singapore, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2010 as one of the top medical students in her cohort with distinction in surgery. She did her ophthalmology residency training in Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and was awarded the Ministry of Health Training Award for her specialist training in 2013. She obtained her Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) by National University of Singapore in 2016, completed her residency and attained specialist accreditation in 2018. She qualified as Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmology (London) that same year. She completed a 2-year cataract and glaucoma fellowship in SNEC in 2020.
Subsequently, she won the NMRC Overseas clinical Research Training Award for an overseas fellowship – completing 2 fellowships in United Kingdom in glaucoma and paediatric glaucoma in world reknown centres Moorfields Eye Hospital and Addenbrookes Hospital (University of Cambridge Eye Hospital). She also completed a paediatric ophthalmology observership whilst in Cambridge. Dr Rachel Chong is a Senior Consultant in the Glaucoma Department at the Singapore National Eye Centre, where she runs a dedicated clinical service for high myopia patients suspected to have glaucoma or who are presently receiving treatment for glaucoma in addition to her general ophthalmology practice. Dr Chong was awarded the National Science Scholarship by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Singapore in 2001 to pursue higher education from an undergraduate level up to a PhD. Associate Professor Perera is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist in the Glaucoma Department at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) with an interest in novel surgeries and imaging. He has commercialized two devices for cataract surgery licensed to companies in India and Germany. Supported by competitive research grants totalling over S$1.5M as PI, his core work has yielded nine patents. Associate Professor Perera has been an invited lecturer for over 100 conferences, written five book chapters and 138 peer reviewed publications. His most recent role as the Deputy Director of the Medical Technology office for SingHealth seeks to promote this promising area to other specialties, now disbursing $6M of catalyst grant funding.

Dr Jocelyn Chua is a Senior Consultant in the Glaucoma Department at the Singapore National Eye Centre. She specialises in the management of both adult and paediatric glaucoma. Dr. Ruben Hemelings is a researcher specializing in artificial intelligence and ophthalmic imaging. With a PhD from KU Leuven that won the 2022 McKinsey & Company Scientific Award, his research focuses on developing deep learning models to detect and predict glaucoma (progression) from retinal photographs. He is the first author of multiple works, including G-RISK, an AI tool that quantifies structural glaucoma damage from fundus photos. Currently affiliated with the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), Dr. Hemelings is involved in translational research at the intersection of clinical ophthalmology, AI, and population health. His work emphasizes real-world applicability, from large-scale screening to individualized risk prediction.

Chimene Lim is an optometrist and CEO of First Eyewear Centre in Singapore. She holds a degree in Optometry and Vision Sciences from Cardiff University and a Graduate Certificate in Optometry from the National University of Singapore. With extensive experience across practices in United Kingdom and Singapore, she specialises in primary eye care, myopia management, and clinical detection of ocular disease. Chimene also serves as Secretary of the Singapore Optometric Association and is passionate about elevating community eye care standards through education, clinical excellence, and collaborative care models.

Nazurah is a Nurse Clinician and Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in Ophthalmology, specialising in Glaucoma and Retina services since October 2023. She holds a Master of Nursing from the National University of Singapore and completed a 12-month internship covering glaucoma, retina, and general ophthalmology.
As a certified intravitreal injector, she delivers specialised clinical care whilst contributing to nursing education, research, and policy development through the nursing policy and procedures committee.
Passionate about advancing ophthalmic nursing, Nazurah aims to expand services that empower patients and caregivers in managing eye conditions, preventing blindness and improving sight.

Ms Reena is a Senior Optometrist at the Singapore National Eye Centre, with a subspecialty in contact lens practice. She provides comprehensive optometric care, including refraction, and serves as a physician extender in specialist outpatient clinics. Ms Reena is part of the Contact Lens Service, where her clinical work focuses on fitting specialty contact lenses for complex ocular conditions. In addition to clinical practice, she contributes to optometry education through clinical teaching and supervision, supporting the development of competent and safe practitioners.

Becky Chia is a Senior Staff Nurse with over 10 years of nursing experience, including 8 years as a specialised injector nurse and nurse injector trainer. She is also trained in clinical triage, with expertise in patient assessment, prioritisation of care, and safe administration of injection-based procedures in high-volume clinical settings. Becky is recognised for her sound clinical judgement, strong commitment to patient safety, and dedication to developing nursing competency through training and mentorship.

Dr. R. Venkatesh, a gold medalist in Ophthalmology from Annamalai University, completed his residency at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai. He specializes in cataract and glaucoma, with particular expertise in Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery (MSICS). His research has played a key role in establishing the cost-effectiveness and clinical efficacy of MSICS, especially in resource-limited settings. He is a strong advocate for glaucoma family screening and has contributed significantly to developing technology-enabled community outreach models in ophthalmology. He has also played an active role in developing eye hospitals through LAICO across Asia and Africa, including the recent project at Cape Coast, Ghana. He is actively involved in training AOPs, ophthalmology residents, glaucoma fellows, and short-term trainees from across the globe in cataract surgical skills at Aravind. Dr. Venkatesh has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and 12 book chapters, and has presented widely at national and international scientific forums. His recognitions include the APAO Achievement Award (2018), IIRSI Film Festival Award (2019), and multiple honors at the ASCRS Film Festival, including runner-up awards in 2022 and 2023, and winner awards in 2024 and 2025. Prof (Dr) Baskaran Mani is Director, Glaucoma services and Deputy Director (Research) in Sankara Nethralaya, India, was a Clinician Scientist at SERI/SNEC. He had his postgraduation in ophthalmology (India) and PhD from NUS (Singapore). He mentors postgraduates, fellows, optometrists and PhDs. He has more than 350 publications (H-Index – 65), 8 book chapters, 6 co-patents, 150+ lectures and was part of CGS and SEED suveys, RCTs in India and Singapore. His research involves imaging, angle closure in Asia, genetics, Ocular surface and software algorithms in glaucoma. Dr. Konrad Schargel is Chairman of the Glaucoma Division at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital & Research Center, Riyadh. He is an internationally recognized glaucoma surgeon with a special interest in complex and pediatric glaucoma. His work focuses on surgical innovation, glaucoma drainage devices, and long-term outcomes in challenging cases. Dr. Schargel is actively involved in international education and has delivered numerous invited lectures and courses worldwide. Dr Shams md Noman is a glaucoma specialist & anterior segment surgeon in Bangladesh. He is head of glaucoma of Bangladesh Medical University. Benjamin Xu , M.D., Ph.D. received his B.S. from Yale University and M.D. and Ph.D. in neuroscience from Columbia University. He is now acting chief of the glaucoma service at the USC Roski Eye Institute. Dr. Sirisha Senthil is a highly accomplished Ophthalmologist with over 22 years of experience in the field of Glaucoma. She holds an MS in Ophthalmology from Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, and an FRCS in Ophthalmology from Edinburgh. She is currently the Head of Glaucoma service at L V Prasad Eye Institute, where she has been a faculty member since 2007. Dr. Senthil specializes in managing refractory adult and pediatric glaucomas, with a particular interest in glaucoma drainage implants and secondary glaucomas and genetics of inherited childhood glaucoma. She has published over 173 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored several book chapters and received multiple awards inn national and international fora for her work, including Dr.Vengal Rao Medal in 2012 and the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement award in 2018.

Professor Schmetterer is the Scientific Director and Head of Ocular Imaging at SERI. His research interests span a wide range of imaging from development of novel technology towards applications in preclinical research and clinics. Professor Schmetterer is also interested in clinical trials and is involved in many studies in retina, glaucoma, cornea and dry eye.

Professor Norlina Ramli graduated with a Distinction from Newcastle University Medical School, UK. She pursued ophthalmology specialty qualifications in the UK from Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London and later obtained Masters in Ophthalmology qualification from University Malaya with a distinction in her thesis. She pursued Glaucoma subspecialty training at Singapore National Eye Centre. She has published over 50 publications in indexed peer reviewed journals and has a H index of 12 with over 400 citations. She is frequently invited as a speaker at numerous local and International academic meetings in Ophthalmology. She is also Deputy Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Ophthalmology and honorary secretary for Malaysian Glaucoma Society. She has served as consultant to various projects involving her area of expertise for industry as well as NGO entities. In her current capacity as a lecturer in University Malaya, she teaches both undergraduate medical students and postgraduate ophthalmology trainees.

Dr. Mary Qiu is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Chicago. She specializes in glaucoma surgery and cataract surgery in patients with glaucoma. She completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford University, medical school at UCSF, residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins, and glaucoma fellowship at the Cole Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic.
Her clinical practice focuses on the surgical and medical management of complex glaucoma patients, and she has a special clinical interest in neovascular glaucoma and tube revisions/exchanges. Her academic work is related to neovascular glaucoma, outcomes after both minimally invasive as well as traditional glaucoma surgical techniques, developing new surgical techniques, and glaucoma education for ophthalmology residents. Dr. Qiu has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, edited a textbook about neovascular glaucoma, and presented her work locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

A/Prof Shamira Perera is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist in the Glaucoma Service at SNEC. At SERI he is the Co Head of Bioengineering and Devices works closely with Business Development team to commercialize devices in glaucoma and cataract. His most recent role as the deputy director of the Med Tech office for SingHealth seeks to promote this promising area to other specialties and has disbursed >S$6M for innovation. Supported by competitive research grants totaling over S$4.0M as PI, his core work has yielded 8 patents. A/Prof Perera has been an invited lecturer for over 90 conferences, written 5 book chapters and >150 peer reviewed publications.”

Dr. Surinder Singh Pandav is Professor and Head of Advanced Eye Centre, at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh. India. His main spheres of work are patient care, medical education and research. Dr. Pandav did Glaucoma Fellowship in 2005 – 2006 at Perth, Australia (Lions Eye Institute and Royal Perth Hospital). DA-WEN LU, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor at Department of Ophthalmology, Tri-Service General Hospital, National Defense Medical University in Taipei, Taiwan. He was previously he Glaucoma Director of Ophthalmology Department at Tri Service General Hospital. He currently also serves as the president of Taiwan Glaucoma Society. Dr. Lu received his medical education and Ph.D. program at Medical School of National Defense Medical University, Taipei, Taiwan. His fellowship in glaucoma was with Dr. Spaeth at Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Lu has special interests and expertise in the areas of glaucoma surgery, ocular pharmacology and experimental research.
Dr. Lu has authored over 165 published papers, appearing in numerous medical and scientific journals. He received Outstanding Performance Awards from National Science Council of Taiwan and Outstanding Service in Prevention of Blindness Award and Distinguished Service Award from Asian- Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Catherine Jui-Ling Liu is professor of Ophthalmology, School of Medicine in National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taipei, Taiwan. She was the chairperson of the Department of Ophthalmology, Taipei Veterans General Hospital from 2015 to 2022, and President of the Ophthalmological Society of Taiwan from 2017 to 2020. Now she is a superior attending staff at the same hospital.

Dr Lingam Vijaya is working at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, India for more than three decades, she headed the Smt Jadhavabai Nathmal Singhvee glaucoma services at Sankara Nethralaya for twenty years and trained many glaucoma specialists in the country. She is currently working as distinguished senior consultant. She is a member of board of governors of the World Glaucoma Association and the Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society. Chan Yun Kim is Professor of Ophthalmology at Yonsei University with extensive expertise in glaucoma and ophthalmic research. Completed medical education, Master’s, and Doctorate in Medical Science at Yonsei University, followed by residency and fellowship training at Severance Hospital. Served in multiple academic and leadership roles including Associate Professor, Professor, Director of Ophthalmology, and senior administrator within Yonsei University Health System. Professor Jost Jonas is the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Medical Faculty Mannheim of Heidelberg University in Germany. His research interests span across a remarkable breadth of subjects, including intravitreal therapies for retinal disease, retinal vascular physiology, ocular biomechanics, age-related macular degeneration, retinal microglial biology, and the mechanisms underlying emmetropization and myopia.
Over his distinguished career, Prof Jonas has made pioneering contributions in research. His studies of optic nerve head morphology and research linking cerebrospinal fluid pressure to glaucomatous optic neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusions, have reshaped how these conditions are understood.
Prof Jonas has received many honours, including the Glaucoma Award of the German Ophthalmologic Society, the Junior and Senior Award of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Senior Clinical Scientist Award of the World Glaucoma Association, the Prof. Robert-Ritch Glaucoma Award, the International Gold Awards of the Chinese Ophthalmologic Society, and the Senior Award of the Asian Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr Hommer has research interests in glaucoma, clinical trials, compliance and medical therapy. He has given more than 1000 lectures both nationally and internationally in more than 60 different counties worldwide. Dr Hommer is principal and/or regular investigator in phase 3 studies for glaucoma treatment since 1994. He received “The best inspected study centre award 2012” by AGES.

Clin Assoc Prof Ho is a Senior Consultant and the immediate past Head of Glaucoma Service in Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), a position she held for almost a decade. During her tenure she helped developed one of the largest departments in SNEC with specialised comprehensive services for all types of glaucoma including childhood glaucoma, as well as the step-down Eye Clinic models of care for the management of stable glaucoma patients. She holds both a Paediatrics as well as an Ophthalmology specialist degrees. She was awarded the Wong Hock Boon Gold Medal for being the most outstanding candidate in the Master of Medicine (Paeds) Examinations.

Ying Han – Professor of Ophthalmology in the Department of Ophthalmology at UCSF. I’m the Medical Director of the glaucoma service and Medical Director of the Ophthalmology Department.

In addition to my clinical work in cataract and glaucoma, I am an NIH funded clinical researcher studying glaucoma surgical outcome, especially focusing on glaucoma drainage device (GDD)’s surgery outcomes and primary angle closure diseases. My research also includes designing novel GDDs to minimize scar formation after the surgery. I have received NEI K21 study a Fibrosis-free Glaucoma Drainage Implants and UG1 fundings to conduct the DECLARE trial (Glaucoma Drainage Device and Endothelial Cell Loss Compare Trial). I have over 90 peer-reviewed publications two book chapters. I currently serve as Chair for research committee at American Glaucoma society (AGS).

Dr Girard is currently an Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School, and Principal Investigator I at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) where he heads the Ophthalmic Engineering & Innovation Laboratory (OEIL), and co-heads the Bioengineering & Devices Research Group. Dr Girard has strong expertise in Ophthalmic Engineering with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Imaging, Ocular Biomechanics, and Ophthalmic Devices. His research has especially focused on optic neuropathies (including glaucoma), but also myopia, corneal disorders, and cataract. Dr Girard’s research has remained translational, and he is the founder of the Singapore start-up company Abyss Processing Pte Ltd, that provides 3D AI solutions to simplify and improve glaucoma diagnosis & prognosis. Dr Girard has authored 140+ papers in top Ophthalmology and Engineering journals, has given 70+ invited talks, has received 40+ research grants & 25+ research awards. As a PI, he has received more than $8M in research funding, and he has licensed 5 technologies to local and international MedTech companies.

Dr. Dorairaj is a Professor of Ophthalmology, Mayo College of Medicine and Science, and Consultant in the Department of Ophthalmology, Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, Florida. Associate Professor Michael Coote MBBS FRANZCO GAICD  is an active glaucoma surgeon, researcher and has administrative roles. He is a serial creator: he developed a disposable tonometer, a tele-ophthalmology platform, a new problem based electronic medical record for ophthalmology, a new ophthalmic speculum and a new electrode for ERG recording. He developed the “CERA model” of bleb porosity testing and is the founder of a start-up developing a new drainage device based upon the insights. He developed the GONE program for ONH examination, and has co-authored a text-book on the Optic Nerve in Glaucoma. He has published over 50 peer reviewed manuscripts, authored 8 books and chapters and has given over 60 international lectures. He lives in Melbourne Australia.

Colin Clement is a Ophthalmologist with interest in glaucoma and cataract surgery. Director of glaucoma surgery training at the sight for life Wet Lab (Sydney) and co-director of the Australian MIGS wet-lab course. Board of directors, Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society.

Dr. Chang is a fellowship-trained refractive cataract and glaucoma specialist working at Stanford since 2009. He focuses on premium lenses as well as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. Dr. Robert Edward Ang is a senior consultant and Head of Cornea and Refractive Surgery Services at the Asian Eye Institute in Makati City, Philippines. He undertook two fellowship training programs (Glaucoma, then Cornea and Refractive Surgery) at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, his passion includes teaching fellows and residents and performing research studies on presbyopia treatment, intraocular lens technology and glaucoma devices. Professor Aung is a clinician scientist, with clinical practice focusing on glaucoma and research interests in angle closure glaucoma and glaucoma genetics. Professor Aung’s research has secured more than SGD50 million in competitive research grant funding. He is currently the Lead PI of the Large Collaborative Grant (LCG), “Tackling and Reducing Glaucoma Blindness with Emerging Technologies (TARGET), a $25 million multi-disciplinary and multicenter program grant awarded by the National Medical Research Council, Singapore in 2022.

Professor Aung currently has more than 800 publications (h-index 104) including 15 major papers in Nature Genetics (6 as First or last author) as well as multiple papers in JAMA and Lancet. Mr Leon Au is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in glaucoma and cornea. He graduated from the University of Nottingham in 1998 with an ophthalmology prize of the year.  He completed 8 years of general ophthalmology training in Nottingham and Manchester before undertaking separate subspecialty training fellowships in cornea, glaucoma and refractive surgery.  He has been a dual-specialty consultant in the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital since February 2009. He is an international leader in the field of innovative glaucoma surgeries and is involved in many of the clinical trials.

Damon Wong is an Associate Professora Principal Investigatorin the Ocular Imaging Department, Singapore Eye Research Institute and SingHealth Duke-NUS Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Programme. He also holds a faculty appointment in SingHealth Duke-NUS Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Institute. A/Prof Wong has focused on the development of ocular image processing and analysis, with a particular emphasis on structure-function modelling. His work investigates AI-driven methodologies to address clinical challenges and improve the understanding of ocular disease.

Dr. Prasanna Venkatesh Ramesh Glaucomatologist and Research Head at Mahathma Eye Hospital Pvt Ltd in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, earned his MS degree with a gold medal and completed his fellowship at the Coimbatore Glaucoma Foundation. He holds FAICO (Cataract &Glaucoma), FICO (Glaucoma), DNB, and MNAMS. Authored 19 book chapters and 60 PubMed-indexed articles with 576 citations (h-index 12). He currently serves as a Standing Committee Associate Member (2026–2028) in the APAO LDP Programand serves as a Member of the AIOS Managing Committee.He is also the winner of the ASCRS Winning Pitch Challenge 2025 (USD 5,000).

Masaru Inatani, is the chairman at the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medical Science, University of Fukui, Japan; a director of the Japan Glaucoma Society, a director of the Japanese Ophthalmological Society. After Graduating from Kyoto University and completing residency in Kyoto University Hospital, he was awarded a PhD from Kyoto University Graduate School. After the lecturer at Kumamoto University, he has been the chairman at University of Fukui since 2011. His research interests are glaucoma surgery and molecular mechanism for glaucoma optic neuropathy.

Dr. Shalini Mohan, is Professor and Head of Glaucoma Services, Ophthalmology, GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, with over 20 years of experience. Her expertise includes advanced glaucoma, angle-closure glaucoma, ocular blood flow, and trabeculectomy. She has published extensively in reputed journals and contributed to leading textbooks. Dr Vivien Yip, is a Senior Consultant with the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She is also the head of Glaucoma and Comprehensive Eye Care services at the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute. Dr Yip leads her team in optimising clinical care for her patients through new care models with a focus on timely intervention and wholistic management. Dr Yip has presented and published in numerous conferences and journals both locally and internationally. She is currently involved in Glaucoma and Primary Eye Care research and is a co-investigator in several research grants.

Prof. Dr. Xiangjia Zhu, Director of the Cataract & Lens Refractive Surgery Department at Eye & ENT Hospital, Fudan University, is a prestigious recipient of the NFSC Excellent Young Scientists Fund. She has advanced clinical outcomes for highly myopic patients, elucidated mechanisms of related complications (cataract, glaucoma, etc.), and first identified anxiety as a systemic complication of high myopia. Being the winner of 2025 NFER Cataract Research Award and 2026 APACRS Certified Educator Award, she holds 150 SCI papers as first/corresponding author and 12 patents, and has led five NSFC projects, ranking 10th globally among cataract experts by Expertscape.

Tomasz Zarnowski, Professor and Chairman, Glaucoma Clinic, Medical University, Lublin, Poland. Primary scientific interests in glaucoma are glaucoma surgery, managing complications, genetics of glaucoma, neuroprotection, pharmacology, anti-VEGFs, compliance, etc. He has a long-term clinical experience with diagnosis and management of glaucoma, teaching students and specialists. Dr Yap Zhu Li heads the complex anterior segment service which is focused on the most surgically complex cataract and anterior segment conditions, including subluxed and dislocated lenses, trauma-related eye injuries, and cyclodialysis clefts. Having undertaken dual subspecialty training, her practice also covers the full range of glaucoma treatment and general cataract surgery, and she offers a wide selection of premium multifocal and extended depth-of-focus (EDOF) intraocular lenses for patients seeking reduced dependence on glasses. Dr Yap is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the SingHealth Duke-NUS Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Programme and a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, where she trains fellows, residents, medical students, and allied health professionals. She is also the co-Head of the Ocular Therapeutics and Drug Delivery Group at the Singapore Eye Research Institute. Professor Wong is the founding President of the Glaucoma Association Singapore and past Executive Director of the National Health Innovation Centre.

Dr. Sushmita Kaushik, a leading glaucoma specialist, is a Professor of Ophthalmology at PGIMER, Chandigarh. She has authored 181 peer-reviewed publications and 53 textbook chapters. Internationally acclaimed, she is a Visiting Professor at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, USA, and KKESH Riyadh, and an invited member of the CGRN. Prof Ramanjit Sihota, MD, FRCS, FRCOphth, was heading the Glaucoma research facility and clinical services at Dr Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, for 14 years. Dr Sihota spearheaded the National Task force in Glaucoma, which trained District Ophthalmologists across India in Glaucoma management. She has published over 225 papers in peer reviewed, indexed international journals. She has written – ‘Practical approach to Glaucoma” for use by PGs and general practitioners.She was the recipient of the ARVO India 2024 Dr Badrinath oration. Prof Sihota has been in the lifetime and annual Stanford lists of the top 2% of researchers worldwide for Ophthalmology.

Dr. Shoji graduated from Niigata University School of Medicine in 1988 and began his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Tokyo Hospital that same year. In 1991, he began researching glaucoma under Prof. Makoto Araie. He joined Kitasato University School of Medicine in 1999 and became chief professor in 2016. That same year, he presided over the 27th Annual Meeting of the Japan Glaucoma Society in Yokohama. In 2024, he succeeded Prof. Makoto Aihara as President of the Japan Glaucoma Society.

Seungsoo Rho is a clinician-scientist whose work is focused on investigation of novel glaucoma treatments with biomaterials. As Seungsoo is one of the leading glaucoma surgeons in CHA Bundang Medical Center (Seongnam, Republic of Korea) and a Professor of Ophthalmology in School of Medicine, CHA University, his research is largely inspired by glaucoma patient care in practice. A past President of APGS, SEAGIG, AACGC, and the Thai Glaucoma Society, he has delivered over 800 international lectures and performed live surgery in seven countries. Mineo Ozaki directs Ozaki Eye Hospital in Miyazaki, Japan, and serves as Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, Adjunct Clinician Scientist at Singapore Eye Research Institute, and Lecturer at University of Miyazaki. For nearly 30 years, he has conducted clinical and basic research on exfoliation syndrome and exfoliation glaucoma. He founded the Japanese Consortium for Genetic Research on exfoliation syndrome with Singapore National Eye Centre and Genome Institute of Singapore, and works with Prof. Tin Aung and international collaborators. His research on glaucoma genetics and surgical treatment has been published in journals including JAMA, Nature Genetics, and Ophthalmology.

Maria Catherina Nasol is a practicing Glaucoma Specialist for more than 15 years. She has a vast experience in managing complicated glaucoma cases and has special interest in filtering surgeries, tube surgeries and complicated cataract surgeries. Dr. Trina Nasol finished her Glaucoma Fellowship at the esteemed National University Hospital in Singapore under the tutelage of Professor Paul Chew. She was also trained in Refractive Surgery in the same institution. Currently, she is the Glaucoma Section Head of University of Santo Tomas Hospital and Cardinal Santos Medical Center. She also holds a board position at the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr Ray is a Senior Consultant & Deputy Head in Ophthalmology at National University Hospital. He is an Associate Professor and Director of Education in Dept of Ophthalmology at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. After completing his undergraduate education at the University of Calcutta, India, he underwent basic and advanced surgical training in Ophthalmology at Prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, the premier medical institute in India. Subsequently he underwent advanced surgical training in the field of Cornea and external diseases at AIIMS. He also obtained a Fellowship in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK) in 1998. He joined National University Hospital, Singapore in 2002. He is a Consultant at NUH since 2009.

Dr. Levin is Distinguished James McGill Professor and former Chair of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at McGill University. He received his AB, AM, PhD, and MD degrees from Harvard, with an ophthalmology residency and neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He is an elected member of the American Ophthalmology Society and the Glaucoma Research Society. He edited five textbooks, including Neuro-Ophthalmology: The Practical Guide, Ocular Disease: Mechanisms and Management, and the 11th and 12th editions of Adler’s Physiology of the Eye. His research is on optic nerve axonal death and improving the design of neuroprotection clinical trials.

Dr Kiew is a glaucoma consultant at Singapore National Eye Centre and Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS medical school. She runs the uveitic glaucoma service at SNEC and is the current program director for the Singhealth Ophthalmology Residency Program.

Dr. Parul Ichhpujani is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh, specializing in glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology. She trained in glaucoma at the Advanced Eye Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh, and completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at Wills Eye Institute, Philadelphia. She serves on the Education Committee of the World Glaucoma Association and holds editorial roles with leading ophthalmology journals. Recognized among the “Best 40 Ophthalmologists under 40” in 2015, she has an extensive academic portfolio, including over 120 indexed publications, numerous book chapters, and editorial contributions, and leads the Springer series Current Advances in Ophthalmology.

Rahat Husain is a senior consultant ophthalmologist based at Singapore National Eye Centre, specialising in glaucoma and cataract care. He has a strong interest in service innovation, particularly the development of virtual clinics and new models of care to improve efficiency and patient access. His work includes implementation of glaucoma virtual clinics and redesign of outpatient pathways. Clinically, he is experienced in cataract surgery and glaucoma procedures, with an interest in integrating evidence-based techniques into routine practice. He is actively involved in teaching and service development, and regularly presents on clinical and operational topics in ophthalmology.

Prof Dr Norshamsiah Md Din is a Professor and Consultant Ophthalmologist at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology, Glaucoma Unit, and a Professor of Ophthalmology. Dr Norshamsiah has been involved in research, education and clinical treatment related to Glaucoma, particularly in diagnostics and management of glaucoma for over 10 years. She is an internationally recognised speaker, clinician and researcher and has published extensively in numerous medical journals and book chapters. Dr. Tanuj Dada MD, FRCSEd, is currently Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of Glaucoma Services at RP Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS-New Delhi. He serves as Board of Governors of the World Glaucoma Association. He is Chief Editor of the Journal of Current Glaucoma Practice, associate editor of the Journal of Glaucoma and on the editorial board of American journal of ophthalmology. Jonathan Crowston is an ophthalmologist and clinician–scientist specialising in glaucoma and optic nerve biology. He is Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney and a glaucoma specialist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. His research focuses on mechanisms of optic nerve degeneration and resilience in glaucoma, particularly how ageing, metabolism, and mitochondrial function influence retinal ganglion cell vulnerability. He leads translational research programs investigating neuroprotection and metabolic therapies, including the role of nicotinamide in glaucoma. Jonathan leads the Optic Nerve Research Program at the University of Sydney and directs the Snow Vision Accelerator, a research program focused on discovery and translation of neuroprotective therapies for optic neuropathies.

Asst. Prof. Kossama Chukmol is a leading Cambodian ophthalmologist and academic, currently serving as Deputy Director of Preah Ang Duong Hospital, the country’s principal national center for eye care. She also heads the hospital’s ophthalmology department and plays a key role in advancing clinical services and specialist training. She is actively involved in regional and international eye health initiatives. In addition, she contributes to medical education as a lecturer at the University of Health Sciences in Cambodia, where she trains future ophthalmologists. With advanced training in glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology, and a background in epidemiology, Asst. Prof. Kossama Chukmol has contributed to research and development in eye care. She is widely recognized for her leadership in strengthening ophthalmology services and improving eye health outcomes in Cambodia.

Prof. Ching Yu Cheng is the Assistant Dean (Research), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Director of the Centre for Innovation & Precision Eye Health at NUS. He concurrently heads the Data Science Unit and Ocular Epidemiology Research Group at Singapore Eye Research Institute. His research covers epidemiological, clinical, and genetic studies of age-related ocular diseases. As Director of the Singapore Epidemiology of Eye Diseases (SEED) program, his team has built one of the world’s largest ocular diseases databases. He has published >600 papers in leading journals.

Dr. Dilruwani Aryasingha (MBBS,MD,FRCS) is a consultant ophthalmologist at Golden Key Eye Hospital, Colombo and the immediate past Chairperson of Glaucoma Interest Group of the College of Ophthalmologists of Sri Lanka. She was the President of the College of Ophthalmologists of Sri Lanka in 2019. She is a Graduate of APAO Leadership Development Program in 2016. She is a board member of Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society, board member of APAO Women in Ophthalmology steering committee and a council member of SAARC. She has done glaucoma fellowships at Milton Keynes and Southend University hospitals, United Kingdom.

Prof. Emeritus Makoto Aihara was immediate past Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Tokyo. Outside of ophthalmology, he has majored in neuroscience and molecular biology. Prof. Aihara’s research interests include the mechanisms of intraocular pressure regulation, glaucoma animal models, lipid mediators, and the development of glaucoma drugs and new surgeries. Dr Xiaofei Wang is currently a Professor at Beihang University, Beijing, China and Principal Investigator at Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Biomedical Engineering where he heads the Ophthalmic Engineering and Visual Science lab. He obtained his PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of New South Wales and finished his postdoc training in National University of Singapore and Singapore Eye Research Institute. He has strong expertise in ophthalmic engineering including ocular biomechanics, ophthalmic image processing, glaucoma and myopia. He published frequently in top ophthalmology and engineering journals.

Dr. Damrong Wiwatwongwana is the Academic Chair of the Thai Glaucoma Society and a faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology. He has completed 2 clinical fellowships, Glaucoma and Oculoplastics and Orbital disease from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He has a special interest and extensive experience in minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery. He is currently involved in multi-centered research projects on MIGS in Thailand. He is also serving as the Head of the Ophthalmology undergraduate program and Head of the Oculoplastics Division at the Chiang Mai University.

Dr.Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Cole Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago,before pursuing her glaucoma fellowship at the Duke Eye Center.Dr. Wang has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and presented at over 20 national and international conferences, is a peer reviewer for several journals including Ophthalmology Glaucoma and BMC Ophthalmology, and was awarded several awards focused on both research as well as patient care. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants, and most of all – spending time with family and friends.

Associate Professor Victor Koh is the Pro-Tem CEO and Chairman of the Hospital Planning Committee for Tengah General and Community Hospital, the newest member of the National University Health System (NUHS). In this role, he is building not just a new, dynamic healthcare team but also designing a future ready institution around the needs of the Western community. A/Prof Koh concurrently heads the Department of Ophthalmology at the National University Hospital, and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore. A strong advocate for advancing medical innovation, he leads SPIN (Ophthalmology), NUHS’ flagship programme for translational innovation, driving breakthroughs that bring research from bench to bedside. Joseph Anthony Tumbocon is the Glaucoma Section Head and Assistant Head for Undergraduate Education at St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) Quezon City, Philippines; Professor of Ophthalmology at SLMC College of Medicine; Trustee of the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology; and Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Society. Dr. Tumbocon obtained his medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines and completed his ophthalmology residency training in the same institution. He underwent further training as a clinical fellow in glaucoma at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, USA from 2000 to 2001; and completed another year of clinical fellowship in cornea & external disease at the University of Toronto, Canada in 2002.

Dr. Sushma Tejwani is the Medical Superintendent and head of Glaucoma Services at a Narayana Nethralaya-2, Bangalore. She did her fellowship at LVPEI, Hyderabad, India, observership at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA, and PhD at VIT University, India. She has 26 years of experience in clinical training of residents and fellows. She has been part of multiple clinical trials related to glaucoma diagnostics, pediatric glaucoma, lasers & corneal biomechanics. She has presented at several national and international meetings, won a few awards, has 54 publications in peer-reviewed journals, written 8 book chapters, and is a reviewer for many indexed journals.

Dr. Saito is an assistant professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Tokyo. Her research interests have mainly been with optic disc imaging and its application to myopia and glaucoma diagnosis/management. She has published > 45 peer-reviewed research papers in this area and is a board member of the Japan Glaucoma Society, Japan Imaging and Perimetry Society as well as associate advisory board member of the World Glaucoma Association and Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Society. Miss Alessandra Martins is a consultant ophthalmologist with expertise in the diagnosis and management of both complex adult and paediatric glaucoma. She is based at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Richard Desmond Children’s Eye Centre. She is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and she her previous research is in the early detection of glaucoma using innovative topographic electrodiagnosticperimetry. She has a special interest in the surgical management of complex secondary adult and paediatric glaucomas.She is currently co-secretary for the UK Paediatric Glaucoma Society.

Adjunct A/Prof Loon is the Head of Ophthalmology at Alexandra Hospital and a Senior Consultant in National University Hospital. He is also the cluster glaucoma subspecialty head. He specialises in performing laser and surgery for glaucoma, as well as complex cataract surgery. He also specialises in the epidemiology of eye diseases, using the research of eye disease in applying the latest technologies whilst ensuring safety and efficacy in treatment. He received his basic training in Singapore, with specialist degrees conferred from the National University of Singapore and Edinburgh. Dr. Swarup Swaminathan is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Swaminathan also serves as Bascom Palmer’s clinical director for informatics. Ki Ho Park is a professor of ophthalmology at Seoul National University and the President of the Glaucoma Research Society (GRS), President of AACGC, Vice-President of Asia Pacific Ocular Innovation Society (APOIS) and Board Member of ICO. He was the previous president of APGS, Korean Ophthalmological Society (KOS), and Korean Glaucoma Society (KGS), Korean Myopia Society (KMS), and the previous Board of Governor of WGA. His research interest is focused in glaucoma imaging and AI, early diagnosis and management of normal-tension glaucoma, and prevention of blindness from myopic glaucoma. He has published more than 400 papers in SCI journals, 14 book chapters, and more than 200 international lectures.

Professor Masaru Inatani is the chairman at the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medical Science, University of Fukui, Japan; a director of the Japan Glaucoma Society, a director of the Japanese Ophthalmological Society. After Graduating from Kyoto University and completing residency in Kyoto University Hospital, he was awarded a PhD from Kyoto University Graduate School. After the lecturer at Kumamoto University, he has been the chairman at University of Fukui since 2011. His research interests are glaucoma surgery and molecular mechanism for glaucoma optic neuropathy.

Chelvin Sng is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore and the Medical Director of her clinical practice at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. She graduated from the University of Cambridge, UK, with triple first class honours and distinctions. Chelvin is the co-inventor of the Paul Glaucoma Implant, which is in clinical use in Europe, United Kingdom, Asia and and Australia. Naris Kitnarong is an Associate Professor of Glaucoma and Deputy Headof the department of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. He completed fellowships at the University of Tennessee, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and Heidelberg University. A pioneer in using anti-VEGF for neovascular glaucoma, his research focuses on glaucoma management and premium IOL outcomes. Beyond academia, Dr. Kitnarong leads the Siriraj Mobile Cataract Unit, providing surgical care to underprivileged populations across Thailand. He is deeply committed to ophthalmic education, overseeing residency and fellowship programs while advancing corporate social responsibility within the medical faculty.

Jin Wook Jeoung is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul National University College of Medicine, Seoul, South Korea. He completed his internship, residency, and glaucoma fellowship at Seoul National University Hospital. His research focuses on RNFL and ganglion cell imaging, glaucoma pathophysiology, risk factors, and genetics, with over 230 SCI-indexed publications. He currently serves as Director of International Affairs of the Korean Glaucoma Society and has held several leadership roles within the society. He has also contributed to the Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Congress Program Committee and received multiple national and international academic awards.

Megumi Honjo is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Tokyo, specializing in glaucoma. She is a leading expert in the mechanisms of elevated intraocular pressure and aqueous humor outflow, with profound clinical expertise in both pharmacological and surgical therapies. An influential leader in the field, Dr. Honjo serves as a Director of the Japan Glaucoma Society and the Japanese Society of Ophthalmic Surgery, and is a Delegate of the Japanese Ophthalmological Society.

Dr Ronnie George is senior Consultant in the Glaucoma department at SankaraNethralaya, and the Research Director of the organization. He si actively involved in teaching and research and has published 2 books over 200 articles. He is a past Associate Advisory Board member for the World Glaucoma Association and is past Secretary of the Glaucoma Society of India. He is a member of the Glaucoma Research Society and currently serves on the Education Committee of the World Glaucoma Association, the Editorial boards of the Journal of Glaucoma and the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology

FangSeng Kheong is Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma specialist at the International Specialist Eye Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia since 2007. Past President of Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society from 2022 to 2024 Founding member of the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology since 2008 and being its Past President from 2013 to 2017. Past President and founding member of Malaysian Glaucoma Society from 2022 to 2024. Conferred Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Malaysia in October 2017. Elected Council member of the APAO since 2010. Chairman of the Young Ophthalmologist Standing Committee of the APAO since 2013. Organising Chairperson and Congress President of Asia Pacific Glaucoma Virtual Congress in June 2021 and APGC in August 2022

Dr Cynthia Yu-Wai is a Group Leader and Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and leads the Glaucoma and Therapeutics Lab and the UK Glaucoma BioResource at King’s College London. Her lab is focused on advanced therapeutics, implants and translational research. Dr Yu-Wai-Man has been awarded over £3 million in research funding over the last 5 years. She has received several prestigious awards as PI, namely the Rosetrees Translational Award (2026), MRC Transition Fellowship (2025), Heatley Prize and Medal (2022), MRC Clinician Scientist Fellowship (2020), King’s Prize Fellowship (2019), MRC Confidence-in-Concept Grant (2016).

Prof. Haoyu CHEN is a professor of practice at the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include AI, ocular trauma and medical education. Prof. Chen serves as an academic assessor, reviewer or external examiner for international research grants, PhD viva examinations and faculty promotions. He is an associate editor of Eye. He has published 248 articles, with an H-index of 47. Prof. Chen received APAO Senior Achievement Award, and Outstanding Ophthalmologist Award from the Chinese Ophthalmologist Association.

Dr. Nitika Beri is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Glaucoma Unit, Department of Ophthalmology, University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. She is a member of the Associate Advisory Board of the World Glaucoma Association. Her areas of interest include aqueous outflow dynamics, clinical and surgical management of glaucoma, with special focus onaqueous angiography-guided glaucoma surgery. She has received several International and National Awards for her work in research and has authored multiple indexed publications along with book chapters in the field of glaucoma.

Dr Bryan Ang is Deputy Head of the Glaucoma Service at the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Dr Ang’s clinical and research interest is in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS). He is regularly invited to speak at regional and international meetings, and his surgical techniques in various MIGS have won multiple awards, including 1st and 2nd Prize at the World Glaucoma Congress, and Best Video at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting. To date, Dr Ang has published more than 70 scientific papers and holds multiple competitive grants focusing on glaucoma surgery and diagnostics.

Dr. Jella An is Professor of Ophthalmology and Glaucoma Fellowship Director at the Storm Eye Institute, Medical University of South Carolina, USA. Her clinical expertise includes micro-invasive glaucoma surgery, sustained-release drug delivery, and complex cataract and glaucoma care. She serves as principal investigator for multiple clinical trials and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. An internationally invited speaker and committed educator, Dr. An focuses on advancing safer, earlier glaucoma treatment while mentoring the next generation of glaucoma specialists through rigorous clinical training and research mentorship.

Dr. Noel Chan graduated from the medical school of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with first class honors and Kan Tong Po Gold Medal for Medical Studies in 2006. She completed her ophthalmology residency and subspecialty training in Hong Kong Eye Hospital and obtained her FRCSEd(Ophth) in 2012 and FHKAM(Ophth) in 2013 followed by her overseas training in the United States. Dr. Chan sub-specializes in neuro-ophthalmology, glaucoma as well as low vision. She is an international fellow of the North America Neuro-ophthalmology Society (NANOS) and Council member of Asia Neuro-ophthalmology Society (ASNOS) as well as External vice-president of Hong Kong Glaucoma Society. She is currently the Chief of Service of Department of Ophthalmology in Caritas Medical Center and Kowloon West Cluster of Hospital Authority in Hong Kong as well as Honorary consultant of the Department of Health. Academically, she serves as the Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences as well as Clinical Skills Learning Center in CUHK.

ChungkwonYoo, MD, PhD is the Chair and Professor of Ophthalmology at the Korea University College of Medicine. He is a director of planning for the Korean Ophthalmological Society and Korean Glaucoma Society, a glaucoma section editor for Korean Journal of Ophthalmology, and a member of Associate Advisory Board and Technology/Communication Committee for World Glaucoma Association. Prof Yoo has been involved in research, education and clinical treatment related to IOP fluctuations, Lifestyle and Glaucoma, Normal Tension Glaucoma, Glaucoma Surgery, MIGS and Imaging over 10 years. He is an internationally recognised speaker, clinician, and researcher, and has published extensively in numerous Ophthalmologyjournals and books.

Sng Chelvin Dr ABC is Director of the AAA and BBB at the University of CCC. He is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma/Burn and an Associate Professor of Surgery. Doctor ABC has been involved in research, education and clinical treatment related to tissue repair and chronic wounds for over 10 years. He is an internationally recognised speaker, clinician, and researcher, and has published extensively in numerous medical journals and books. Currently he is on the editorial board of “Wound Care”. He is extensively involved in national and international education related to wound treatment.

Kin Sheng Lim, MB ChB, MD, FRCOphth, is Professor of Glaucoma Studies at King’s College London and Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at St Thomas’ Hospital. He directs the KCL Frost Eye Research Department and Ophthalmology research at St Thomas’ Hospital. His clinical and research work focuses on aqueous humour dynamics and glaucoma treatment, leading one of Europe’s only dedicated human aqueous dynamics laboratories.

Nakazawa Toru Toru Nakazawa received the Ph.D. degree in Ophthalmology in 2002. He spent the following three years at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary as the research fellow under the direction of Prof. Joan W Miller. Dr. Nakazawa has been a Professor and Chairman of Department of Ophthalmology at Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine since 2011. His research interests have been focused on glaucoma, particularly studies related to neuroprotection. He has published more than 493 articles in board reviewed international journals.

Associate Professor Judy Ku is an internationally fellowship-trained Glaucoma and Anterior Segment Surgeon based in Brisbane, and an Honorary Clinical Professor at QUT. She completed glaucoma fellowship training at the Singapore National Eye Centre, followed by Cornea & External Eye Disease fellowship training at the University of Toronto. Her dual expertise enables a comprehensive approach to complex glaucoma and anterior segment disease. Dr Ku serves on advisory boards for MIGS and MIBS development and is actively involved in education. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, contributes as a reviewer, and has received multiple awards, including the ASCRS Best Presenter Award.

Associate Professor Jennifer Fan Gaskin (MBChB, MD, FRANZCO) is a Glaucoma Specialist at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, and Principal Investigator of the Ocular Fibrosis Research Unit at the Centre for Eye Research Australia (an institution ranked fourth globally in Ophthalmology Research). Her research focuses on novel treatment strategies for fibrotic eye diseases. Jennifer serves as Secretary of both the Australian and New Zealand Glaucoma Society and Australian Vision Research. She was recently elected Co-Chair of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists’ Scientific Programme Committee. She is a Glaucoma Section Editor for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology.

Dr. Poemen Chan is an Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and a specialist in glaucoma and cataract surgery. His research focuses on pre-glaucoma status, glaucoma, cost-effectiveness analysis, and medical education. He has published over 60 papers in index journals and secured more than HKD 10 million in research and teaching grants. He also holds key leadership roles in World Glaucoma Association (WGA), Asia Pacific Academy of ophthalmology (APAO), Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society (APGS), and Hong Kong Glaucoma Society. He was also a section leader and author of the 4th edition APGS guideline

Maria Cecilia D. Aquino, M.D., MMED(Ophthalmology) completed her residency training in Ophthalmology at University of Santo Tomas Hospital, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Manila, Philippines. She was conferred Diplomate in Ophthalmology by the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology and Masters of Medicine in Ophthalmology by the National University of Singapore. She pursued Glaucoma Subspecialty fellowship program at National University Hospital (NUH), Department of Ophthalmology, Singapore. She is now part of the Glaucoma Unit of NUH, National University Health System, Singapore actively involved in providing clinical care and doing research on lasers & glaucoma devices.
